I know bat-mite was a favourite of the metagame... just wondering on what of the 2014 con ex is totally metagame?

Why?

I also choose Huntress, for three reasons: Point cost (75), perma-Stealth (Bat Ally) and the fact that she ignores everything but blocking on movement.

For around the same points you can have either Phantom Girl, Lydea Mallor, Shatterstar, Brother Voodoo, Aloysha Kraven, Scarlet Spider et al. Huntress is not in the same league as any of these.

The only 2014 con exclusive who has seen any high level play (AFAIK) is Doop.

You could choose any of those, instead, but they don't possess the same utility as Huntress, imho-- except Lydea-- especially with many having cheap counters since the Flash set was released. Also, we're solely addressing Con Exclusives; if WF hasn't seen much play, yet, it's because relatively few players have the figure and have not attempted to build around Huntress.

I will certainly give her a chance.

If we're including booth exclusives, Resurrection Man.

Huntress is really good, but isn't a figure you build around.

None of these characters can deal 8 penetrating damage from 12 squares away under their own power in two turns.

That's not true. Huntress made top 4 at a ROC last June.

The two that I've seen in play are Resurrection man and World's finest.

Rez man's wall of text basically explains why he's meta. And Huntress isn't meta nor is she especially powerful, but she is unusual in that she is a Bat ally that brings the capability for affordable* long range penetrating damage. Fast forces Batman does too, but he's 50 points more expensive.

* point-wise, certainly not money-wise

The best bargain is Huntress for 75 pts, or the duo for the full 200 (which has some great Scientist support).
