My venue has split up our month 6 op kit, so instead of having an overall winner, we have a final, super cheesy tournament to cap off our War of Light. On that same note though we try to make it as fun as possible, so here it is.
The rules are...
700 points DC Golden Age
No tactics/possession(except corps ring)
Play a lantern corps theme team, may only play the associated corps ring.
Highlander
1% overbuild if team only includes figures.
Now, I'm expecting a lot of Green Lantern teams because of how generally good most of them are. I'm trying to stay away from them, because I prefer a hit em hard hit em fast kinda style. Though I'm still willing to play them.
So far I'm leaning towards Sinestro Corps, with this.
These are the three yellow teams I made when I was thinking of running yellow but I didnt have all the pieces for any of them.
Build
235 WOL055 Parallax (Kyle Rayner)

Of the three lists I liked the first one best because I think map choice will be important in the tournament and Rayner more or less guarantees that you will have it.
At 700 points (and restrictions on resources/possesions) I have a few thoughts:
The Sinestro Corps is very powerful with a 400 point Sinestro Corps Anti-Monitor as the tentpole. Otherwise, I feel that their other tentpole pieces don't have enough protection from all the other tricks that other figures bring to the table.
If "Highlander" doesn't include raw recruits, I think that the Star Sapphires could be very strong as long as they are on a force with the LE Star Sapphire.
The (modern) Black Lanterns can be fun, but play slowly. I think 700 points would guarantee that you could play a force capable of KOing opponents and getting healing/water/converts (depending on the figures you play).
