Looked up a few things and before the new Flash set, got the gist that Speed Demon was considered the 'best' speedster. Played with him a few times and I can definitely see why he's considered so good.
KC Flash seems to rival or exceed Speed Demon nowadays, it somewhat seems.
What are your opinions? I know KC Flash is more expensive, point-wise.
My friends and I play 300 point games with no constructs.
Thoughts on what you consider the 'best' speedster?
I think the biggest thing to consider between KC Flash and Speed Demon is the 85 point difference between them.
Flash is faster, flies, harder to hit, can Outwit on the go or make more attacks, Prob, his HSS can't be outwitted, the KC TA, Indom, and his numbers are just generally higher.
Speed Demon has his Cyclone ability, Thunderbolts keyword, does not fly (so can be carried) and has IM: Characters.
They're very different brands of Speedy Guy that fill totally different roles on the force.
-If you run KC Flash, you need to build around him (As Spider-Ham said.) I ran him at the recent Two Headed Games ROC and placed 4th. My entire force was built around making KC Flash work, and boy did he work.
-Speed Demon isn't your primary attacker, he's your other primary attacker. He doesn't need to pull your entire force to victory the way Flash has to, he just has to pitch in.

What'd you use with him, if you don't mind me asking?

Oh, sure. I was actually 4th placed at the most recent ROC posted on the front page (Won by Tim Bold) if it helps you see some of the competition.
KC Flash
Turtle
Despotellis
Batcycle (Auto)
300 on the nose.
My maps were Ryut, Office Building, and Ocean Floor; if I won map choice, I chose the map that would hamper my opponent's force the most, as each map listed challenges line of fire and/or mobility in a different way.

Speed Demon is still my favorite "speedster." Rival, Zoom (fl047) and The Flash (fl201) are my runners-up.
KC Flash needs support (Turtle, S.T.A.R. Labs Technician) in order to be viable as a tentpole against most min/max teams.
Played with Rival a few times and he really hasn't done anything other than die. while it might only take one hit to get him started, in my case, that's easier said than done.

I like that KC team. I may used a modification of it, maybe with an entity for possession. I am a noob and still learning team building strategy and being slick with relics/resources/entitities.

I mostly agree with your favorites except I'd replace the 201 Flash with the 19a Flash, and I'd add fl001 Flash. For 65 points, he's a great all around speedster. But Speed Demon is just hard to turn down when I'm feeling the need for speed.
Rival, though is becoming a very close second, for 5 points cheaper, even.
But the new KC Flash...well now, this is a whole different breed of cat. This guy costs in a different league and he plays in a different league. Even with minimal support he's a beast. Not sure I'd really compare him to any of the other speedsters mentioned. Compared to Speed Demon, he's almost twice the cost, and does more damage and is harder to take down, and even plays differently. They're too different.
I am a strong believer in speed demon. There are so many ways to pump up the stats. Even without any tactics as part of his support is he awesome. Granted toe to toe he does not stand a very good chance against the flash, but on the right team there are very few opponents who are able to take him down in a 300 point game, imho of course.
KC Flash with the DOFP Magneto. Make the trait of the Magneto and turn Flash a beast hard to hit, and always make two close attacks per turn with minimum of 4 damage!!
I will say that if you are planning to support KC Flash with Turtle, your choice of filler/support is crucial. That character should, at the very least, be mobile on its own and attack if necessary (ex. Harley Quinn / FF Mercy @ 50 pts).
If I had to choose between nuKC Flash and Speed Demon... I kinda gotta give it to Speed Demon. Being just able to run around someone, and effectively deal them damage without having to actually hit THAT character... AND be able to as a result, throw the opposing character a number of squares... Speed Demon. Though if we open it to all the available speedsters... I'd give Wally and his Dark Flash counterpart an edge... but only slightly.
"A" is "A". And no matter what universe he's from, Luthor... is Luthor.
