Psylocke is dead, but not stuffed. Her killer, a mutant named Vargas, made a very lifelike statue of her.
Nightcrawler can now teleport several miles. Emma Frost can harden her skin to diamond, but can utilize her telepathic skills while in that form. Jean Grey is manifesting Phoenix powers as her mutation expands. There are rumors that Cyclops will manifest a secondary mutation soon.
I agree that "the public" is the X-Men's greatest enemy, especially since Xavier was "outed" as a mutant. Also, much of the X-Men struggles have been internal recently (riot at Xavier's school, Polaris vs. Havok). William Stryker has reared his head again in X-Treme X-Men.
He is infact just a race balance character created for the silly tv show. He's based on some chick named Morrow, who I've never seen.
Though I don't like them messing up character backgrounds and colors, there is a perfectly valid point in that there is only ONE black male X-Man. And with a new cartoon show, as dumb as it is, it'd be hard to mess around with the necessary future rules just to establish a color balance.
Juggernaut joined the X-Men. No, I'm serious; he decided that all he really ever wanted was a place to call home and good friends and good brew to come home to after a day of bashing heads. Those were his words more or less. He shows up in Uncanny occasionally.
1. polaris worked with magneto in genosha until it was blown up by sentinals.
2. she returned to the x mansion when havok came back, at prof x's request, havok was in a coma...and when he came out the whole notify the loved ones went on.
3. villain....maybe.....woman scorned...definetly
4. havok was "recovered" by annie (a nurse who took care of him, has a mutant son, who helped anchor him here when he was in the other dimension) annie helped keep his body alive while is mind and soul was busy elseware. annie has a deep feelings for havok, helped on by her sons powers....thus the havok-polaris-annie triangle
5. mystique is not an xman, but is "working" for prof x ....forced to work, by him and forge....spy stuff (see her own limited series- good read)

Which X-men is the real X-men?
I've been reading New X-men lately, and I want to read more, but there's so many...so...so...MANY!!!!!! <Head X-plodes>(Puns are Fun!!!! )
Anyway, what I mean is, which X-men is like the central, most important X-men.
There is no central X-book. They are like different flavors of ice cream. You just buy the ones you like. I reccomend Xtreme though. It is also still my theory that the statue in Vargas' home is really Psylocke, and a fake body was left behind. This is due to the fact that there was not enough time for a statue to have been made, unless it was in advance.
By the way. Marrow qualifies as the worst X-Character ever. That includes Artie, Leech, Shatterstar, and Adam X. Well, maybe not Adam X. He was pretty bad.
