So next week we are running an 800 points, anything is allowed event. The only rule we use is highlander (using the real name on the card - must be only one of each person. For example, I had 3 different The Flash, one was wally, one was Barry, the other was Unknown)
I think I have settled on the Theme I want to go with, just the specific figures are in the air. I have decided to go with Justice League. I have all the figures with the keyword from Trinity Wars except Wonder Woman.
From the Flash Set I have everything BUT Dark Flash.
Have both Guy Gardner and Jade from War of the Light, and Orion from SLOSH.
My first thought is 050 Superman, 051 Batman, 052 Captain Thunder, and 037a The Flash, using a Book of the Skulls with 6 hammers.
Any Other thoughts? I have Book, Phoenix Force, and Battery (green, pink, blue, yellow, red)
I think I have settled on JLTW Superman, JLTW Batman, Flash Captain Thunder, Flash Elongated Man, Brilliant Tactician on Batman, Auto Regen on Superman (who gets angrirs hammer) a book of the skulls with all hammers & Justice League ATA . Add armor Piercing on 2 of them and I have 6 points left over.
-I'm never ever ever playing Book of Skulls without its ol' pal, Splitlip. The only exception might be a single hammer build. It's just too darn slow without him.
-Anything goes? I'm playing entities, resource and Sin chases with their relics. You'd better believe I'm stacking crap on my attacker(s) sooooo deep. I'm talking WM005 Dr Manhattan with Running shot, +2 AV, Sidestep, ES/D, CR, Willpower, +1 defense and Shape Change...carrying Weasel(beat that, Martian Manhunter) AND AoU Hulk. AND Zombie Super Skrull...carrying Weasel. Lol.
-I mean obviously do your thing and have fun, but when I see "anything goes," anything goes...
I'm with Broken. "Anything goes", means pulling out all the stops. I really like the book of the skull and your team, but the BOS is really a 50pt resource. Splitlip will speed up your team so fast freeing your actions up for much better things.
Give me something, I might be able to recommend a few other pieces you could try as well :D
"What about the reality where Hitler cured cancer, Morty? The answer is: Don't think about it."
Okay, how about I get some USEFUL advice geared towards the format I stated, which is Justice League. We are a more casual group of friends playing, and I dont have ANY of those figures. ( Splitlip, Zombies, Chase SIn, etc.. none..) I listed what I was Planning on, and What I was looking for advice regarding. Im trying to play Figures I havent played yet or dont use often. Otherwise I could just reuse Yellow Battery with some exorbitantly high costed figures and wipe the floor without ever getting hit.
No one has the ridiculous meta chases like Ophidian or Parallax in our group. At the worst, Ill face 2 SLOSH Chases and watch 2 hammers get stolen. The only chases I even OWN are Greed, Phantom Stranger, & Rocket Racoon. So im limited in options, and chose to use my Justice League figures, as I have only ever ran Supes once since I got him.
Except I stated what I wanted to use. Answering the Question: "Do you like Pandas?" With the answer " Obama is a good President" Doesnt help. Neither does providing figures without the Keyword I was building around. This isnt a ROC event, its a casual fun game between a group of friends. Im not making ROC level teams here. Just looking for functionally competent and useful.
So next week we are running an 800 points, anything is allowed event. The only rule we use is highlander...
...then receiving advice geared toward such an "event," followed by posting this drivel:

Nope, you never specified that. Not once.
Oh, I was saying...
Instead of doing those things, maybe state up front that you and some friends people who bare your presence at the same table, are playing a useless casual game where you'd like to use a Hammer on Superman...
Oh wait, you already made your team. You didn't want advice, you just wanted to tell us about your team? Neat.
You then proceeded to put in your op with "any other thoughts?"
Regardless, I'm not here to start a flame war or something trivial.
If you wish to stick to the Justice League theme, a few other good pieces include
You by no means have to use these pieces, it's just a couple of my favorite Justice Leaguers you may or may not be aware of
Lex Luthor 200/100 (wild card)
Guy Gardner 120/90 (you mentioned him above and makes a great carrier for your team)
Orion 200 (basically the DC equivalent of Wolverine, heals if he has action tokens and is not tooo shabby)
Big Barda 148 (just a solid piece all around)
Batgirl 25 (cheap outwit)
Oracle DC10 73 (outwit/perplex/prob (once per turn) through friendly characters with JL Keyword)
"What about the reality where Hitler cured cancer, Morty? The answer is: Don't think about it."
I would like to apologize to you Warrendo. The initial comment wasnt really directed at you, more at the other poster. I thought I had been very obvious in the fact that I was aiming for Justice League by stating Justice League, and then listing what Justice League figures I had. It just irritated me when Broken suddenly started listing off what HE would play, with no idea if I even owned those figures ( which Greed is the only one, and Ive played him before. Generally with Lantern Teams to add himself in when we run an event with no resources allowed ).
So here is a question then. I think im set on Superman, Batman, and Elongated Man. If I dropped Captain Thunder for either Lex Luthor ( 200 points ) or Orion ( 200 Points ) , OTHER than Splitlip ( as I dont have him) would be a good filler, and still retain theme? The 10 point spider horde pogs, for barrier? or something else?
Edit: when I said its casual, I meant that we arent all playing ultra competitive meta level teams. While we want to win, we enjoy playing more than the win. Prize support is still on the line, so it is still a weekly event with things to win. I just like using a variety of figures, rather than repeatedly using the same ones. Some of my figs I have had for over a year, and never used. (Like Orion)
Did you not read beyond the title or first paragraph? After all that, was where I said the part about Justice League and what Justice League figures I have. And the possible Justice League team idea I had for figures. .... I figured that would make it very obvious I wanted to play Justice League. And regarding your comment about a "useless casual" , forgive me for my audacity for asking advice regarding a non-ROC, non major tournamnet event. I shall endevour to know my place next time, oh great and wise Competitve One.
Once again, never did I advise against your fantastic theme team. I simply gave an example of the types of enhancements one could achieve in "anything goes." Audacity is a good word to describe your posting habits.

Personally I would try to find a way to add mera or oracle.
Thunder seems unnecessary with superman, and 4 figures would be far lower than I'd want with 8 action turns.
Given what I'd call a competitive environment (doesn't need to be ROC level) I'd have a firm expectation that the other team can cross the map and deliver 11 without too much strain at this point value. It just seems like an extra couple of supports to protect your main strategy would be more effective than one more attack.
