Team Gongshow Episode 1 Superman Wonder Woman Prerelease Colossal Retaliation
Hey HCRealms!
We are proud to introduce The first episode of our new Heroclix video series! Team Gongshow covers newly released sets, rules updates, recent tournament results and everything else Heroclix! In this episode we show clips from our Superman Wonder Woman prerelease event including footage of the new colossal retaliation ability, followed by a discussion of the set and Tycomic's experience at the recent ROC World Cup.
Please like, share, subscribe, and feel free to leave constructive criticism as to what you think of the video; as well as any other material you would like us to cover in future videos! We hope you guys enjoy viewing this video as much as we enjoyed making it!
A great video to debut a new series. Good work, guys.
You didn't try too hard and you acted naturally; relaxed with a casual approach. There are other HeroClix YouTubers that "put it on" for the internet and what they put on is painful to watch. I'm not going to name names, but I can say without reservation that it's NOT 'Married with Clix', 'Glass Cabinet Hobbies', or 'Final Action'.
The ONLY thing I would change is framing and composition: you have the camera angled up too high and off-centre. Are you familiar with "the rule of thirds"? There might be a setting on your camera that will toggle a 3x3 grid on your display. This will make it easier for you to set up a good [medium] shot where YOU guys - when talking/discussing on camera - are the the focus rather than what's in the background.
Otherwise, good stuff. I look forward to the next one.
@bnord2 Thanks for the comment, our buddy dekutree here on the realms mixed all our beats for us, he is very talented and we look forward to all the upcoming tracks he has for us.
@weezer_10 thanks for the comments and suggestions. We were pretty low budget this first go round (filming with an iPhone 6 and a macbook on top of a tv dinner tray) as we continue to do these videos we will invest in an actual camera and tripod setup. we did just picked up a mic but a camera is next on the list
The rule of thirds: When I read that, my semester of journalism and video editing came flooding back to me, although I haven't touched any video editing software since college, I will have to brush up and see if I can apply some mechanics I know are buried deep, thank you for the suggestion!
As far as the background goes, we wanted to showcase some of our shelf pieces we have picked up over the years and make the video more about Heroclix less about us, but show that we are just average clix players that love the game and have been playing for quite some time.
now that we have gotten this first video done, hopefully we can get a real camera soon and increase the picture quality as well as delve into some more in depth topics
Any suggestions for a future episode? Is there something in particular anyone would like us to cover or take a deeper look into? We have a few ideas for a couple future videos but we are always open suggestions.
cool video... I can dig it and will be watching the next episode. I agree with weezer10 that it was refreshing to watch a video of people being more relaxed and natural. I also liked watching the "colossal clips"... damn, I'd have been super frustrated at watching a called-in collossal miss.
something I would look forward to would be a more in-depth review on the MVP of an event: what they do, how they work and what they did to help achieve the win.
Glad you enjoyed it Mut1e! And thanks for watching the whole thing. Those colossals were pretty frustrating. We changed the rules up a bit where you could drop them after a crit miss, with the hopes that more of us would get a chance to play with them but they kept missing! I think the only hit any of them made was the in the final 2 and 0 game between myself and Kyle that we featured in the video.
