There was an Avengers spinoff comic a couple of years ago Avengers forever or something. Rick Jones and a bunch of Avengers gathered throughout time fought Kang. Still with me?
Ok in that Storie Yellow Jacket from the old wife beater days was returned to the current time line and took Hank Prym captive and assumed his Identity. The last I saw the original Hank Prym he was being heald captive in a tiny lab just out side the Avengers headquarters. I have just recently got back into the Avengers and can't find what if anything happened to good Old Hank.
Are you sure you are talking about Avengers Forever? Because I remember reading something similar to this in the regular series of the Avengers. Happened in Vol. 3 around the time when Kang was taking over the world. Hank Pym's personalities split in two with the old Hank capturing the wimpy one.
I believe, the whole Hank Pym personality/mental problems were solved in the 2000 or 2001 Annual. The two merged or something and Hank became one whole healthy minded person again.

Everywhere you look, there's a freaking Monkey doing his business!
The Yellow Jacket Hank escaped into the present reality stalking Wasp. This happened in the regular avengers books. I must have missed the Annual. Thanks Cauinn027
The wife-beater Hank from Avengers Forever did not return to the current time. What happened was when the Avengers took on Kulan Gath, Hank actually split into two beings (Goliath and Yellowjacket), though neither one knew it at the time. Yellowjacket then kidnapped Goliath, thinking he was an imposter, and locked him up in the tiny lab. Yellowjacket took Goliath's place in the Avengers for a while, but then started fading out of existence. While dying on a hospital bed (in the care of Jane Foster, no less), Yellowjacket told Wasp about the "imposter Hank" in the tiny lab. Wasp rescued Goliath (who was also fading away) from the tiny lab. Basically the two Hanks were just seperate manifestations of the same person, and that made it impossible for them to survive apart. Anyway, with a little help from Johnathan Tremont, the two aspects combined back into a single non-wife-beating Hank.
You can read all about it in Avengers Annual 2001.
