The blade throw isn't that creative. It's just ms. Marvel's ranged blades from fear itself. The more creative part is his slice & dice trait that goes hand in hand with it.
Looking back at it more carefully, if you have bad rolls you might only get 2 chances. In order to make a ranged blades attack you MUST remove a blade token. But only if you HIT a figure do you place the blade token on their card. The only way to get blade tokens back is when a figure with a token on their card is ko'ed.
Drax is my favorite dial out of the three in the OP kit. Did not realize he may not get the blade back or even the option to get it back if he doesn't hit from range. However, leave the 2 tokens and have flurry and blades all game long. Sounds good to me. Risk a few throws and he gains super strength and plasticity. gotta love having options and gotta love comic flavor.
The Blade Throw is the entirety the poster before you is talking about. If we're simply talking ranged blades, that has been around since the first set with special powers. With that said, this guy is a monster, and makes his companion LE, Star-Lord, look even more dull by comparison.
And if we are only talking about the blade throw, that, as i stated isn't creative. That's what allows him to make a ranged blade attack. And can you tell me what figure from the legion of super heroes collector set or avengers set had a ranged blade attack? The first figure i can think to get it came out 6 years later.
It isn't just ranged blades, there is more than one sentence, and it's also how it interacts with the trait that makes it unique. Of course, you seem to be the type to argue semantics into oblivion though, so I don't know why I'm bothering. And the Ultimates Iron Man from Avengers had ranged blades in everything, but name, snob.
If you want to call it semantics, call it what you like. I just stated that all he talked about was one part of the figure. I stated the interaction with the trait was what was kinda new and interesting. As for being called a snob, that makes you an @$$ as you know nothing about me in person. At least I'll be polite for my final response on this subject, say good catch on the iron man. As i never got around to playing that piece and haven't looked at it for soooooo long. Have fun acting all high and mighty. Buh bye now
This OP kit is one for three in my opinion, and Drax here is the one. He's worth his points, doesn't need to be fighting Thanos to function at his best, and he feels like Drax, unlike just about every other version we've gotten.

When it comes to Superman and Batman, Grant Morrison is nothing but a 50's cover band in a 70's psychedelic funk style.
While the Avengers set 002 Iron Man's "Full Power" is a ranged attack where you replace your damage with a d6 roll, but you take 2 clix of unavoidable if you do. One of the reasons the figure wasn't particularly popular.
