So, I quit playing right when WoL finished due to stuff going on in my life, but I'm finally in a place where I can get back to playing now, and my lcbs runs golden age, which is perfect since everything I own is retired. I played in a civil war event last week to get my feet wet, but this week will be my first time playing constructed. So, my question is, is this team even competitive anymore?
WOLR106 Power Battery (Star Sapphires) 2
WOLR306 Star Sapphire Ring 8
WOLR206.13 Stop Sign (Violet) 8
WOLR206.10 Boxing Glove (Violet) 8
WOLR206.08 Scissors (Violet) 8
Total 599
It's basically built around making Gladiator shine. I'll give him the stop sign and chunk of Vanessa, mind control him with Mole Man, go out and attack, outwit a couple things, then get summoned back by Lilandra. Forces the opponent to overextend and come to me. I know there's been a lot of new tactics introduced since I quit, and power-creep has always been around, so I'm curious if you all think this team is worth fielding? Or is it like I'm dusting off some Hypertime ...
I'm trying to figure out what all's been going on with ID cards and everything else since then - I just don't know what all is dominating for the most popular tactics lately. I'll figure it out one way or another. I just hope this team isn't so outdated that I don't have a chance ...
If anything, recent pre-retirement pieces will look like Crisis Supes by the time a couple more sets are released. For all intents, it looks as though WK finally realized the power curve had gone up a very steep and slippery slope for years. They appear to be really throttling things back and focusing on team building like the days of old.
Interesting! It isn't my goal to blow everyone out of the water with my build this week. I just want to use some pieces I never got to use in constructed and have a chance against whatever new cheese has been developed in my time away. Thanks!
The ID cards are great. They give new purpose to many figures you might not think to use much otherwise. So far they've been released with the sets Avengers Assemble, Nick Fury, and World's Finest, as well as many convention exclusives. They're used either by themselves or as part of either the Avengers Roundtable or Justice League teleporter. Those are exactly the same thing, and all cards can be used with either, so you don't need both. One will do just fine.
