If a player is playing a 6×3 base, loses map choice, and can't fit it in their starting area, how does the order of operations go?
1. Roll for 1st player (other player wins)
2. 1st player picks map
3. 2nd player (has colossal) picks his side
4. 1st player places his force
5. 2nd player can't fit his 6x3 in the starting area so their starting area is extended until it fits
If this is true, does the 1st player have the option to extend their starting area and replace their force because it was extended?
Also, because starting areas were extended, rules pertaining to special objects, Isolated KC figures, etc. Apply to these extended starting areas or the original ones?
Thank you!
Boy, I sure have pissed off a lot of people lately on the interwebs. Sorry to all.
What about calling them "Papillomas?"

Anything that interacts with a starting area would interact with the extended ones.

I think I know the answer, always had a niggling doubt:
When expanding the starting area, am I obligated to go with the smallest possible result?
Example: I'm playing a 6x3 figure. Can I extend the starting area to 6 squares deep, or do I have to stick with 3? (I assume I have to stick with 3.)
Linked question: Does blocking terrain make a difference? For example, perhaps I couldn't place the figure in a 3-deep starting area without ignoring blocking terrain, but I could turn it and run a 6-deep starting area without doing so. Or, going with the starting question, do I need to see if I could do it in 4- or 5-deep first? (I'm honestly not sure.)

The literal wording: "If either player’s force will not fit within the purple lines, all starting areas increase by one row and one column but can’t overlap another player’s starting area. Starting areas can be extended until each player’s force will fit in their respective starting area."
So, once the figure fits, you stop extending (ie, smallest possible result).

We just talked about this a few weeks ago, I forget what the consensus was.
