Since coming back from the dead, Jason Todd has waged a bloody war on Gotham's criminal underworld. Now, he's bringing in some deadly backup! In this edition of Comic Accurate, it's the "Dark Trinity"!
When The New 52 debuted, one of the many titles launched was an all new team. A trio of characters on the fringes of the Batman Family led by Batman's former sidekick Jason Todd. As the Red Hood, he partnered up with Arsenal and Starfire to form The Outlaws in a book that lasted forty issues.
But now the DCU has been reborn. And in the Rebirth, Red Hood has found two new partners: The Amazon warrior Artemis and the Kryptonian clone Bizarro. Together, they're going to take down super villains starting with Black Mask!
Why these figures - Look at that point total! No need for ATA's (not that you could use them since there's no shared keyword) or feats or objects or anything else to fill out points. Just a 400 point build right on the nose. Though admittedly, these are pretty good pieces of the characters to use compared to other versions
Tips for running this team - When I ran this team a few weeks ago, a nice indoor map worked beautifully. Have Artemis taxi Red Hood out in the early goings of the game, preferably onto a piece of hindering for him to go stealthy in. Meanwhile Bizarro should stay close by, even if not directly adjacent. Hopefully you get some good rolls for his powers.
Let us know how Red Hood and The Outlaws did for you! Next week, it's another issue of Unclixed! Then in two weeks, it's an all new Comic Accurate featuring something hopefully Marvel related!
Looks like a fantastic team. I've always had success with the original Outlaws team (with and without the team base). I didn't realize this new team was even a thing! I'm so behind on comics. LOL
Might have to try it out sometime, even though I have a different Bizarro.
See, I was not even aware that they'd updated the lineup after dropping Starfire. This lineup is a lot more fun, and your iteration of the team build was perfectly done. It bothers me that they don't share a keyword, especially with Red Hood's Leadership power, but you do the best with what you have, and this is still a very good team. I'm tempted to pick up the comic again.
thanks for the article. I, too, am pleased at how easily the team builds up together. it's also not the first time I've looked at a comic lineup and thought "the writer clearly plays heroclix"

yes, though the smww dial is clearly a mashup of both artemi and not fully either. so it inaccurately represents both equally

This figure is dressed in the Artemis (Amazon) costume from Odyssey storyline, where the Morrigan resurrected Amazons to use as pawns. This is reflected in the flavour text for EW "Trapped in a strange alternate timeline". She was also imbued with some divine powers, but that doesn't satisfy her keyword or Divine Aura trait for me.
That Superman and the legion of Super-Heroes Bizarro still misses from my collection..I Do have Old Superman FF Bizarro and Trinity War Bizarro might be a good one to use on a team of Current Outlaws..
The New Red Hood From the Jokers wild would be nice to add with Artemis and Bizzarro..though that wont be Comic accurate anymore.
