Flyingicarus and I are revisiting a game we did a few years back focusing on our favorite characters and Clix. It's an easy concept; we get to a total of 100 favorite Marvel and DC figures playing 25 figures per game. 3000 point games rest of the way through.
When we did the top 100 in the past, we spoke more to the 'why' to our choices.
Most of my picks are simply favorites. I always liked Supergirl. The whole Sensor Girl/Princess Projectra storyline was one I always loved (even though I do prefer Princess Projectra as a character).
Black Adam. Wow. Never gave him a thought til the JSA series of the 2000s (which was responsible for many of my favorites). The same writer, Geoff Johns, created Pandora and I liked what I read of her.
I didn't read the original Constantine series and I understand the character was even more...unusual than he has been of late. Hard not to love this dude.
Hal Jordan---I was never a big GL guy but Hal certainly deserves a nod.
Violet was picked more because I think she's a great, flexible clix.
Lastly was Bizarro. I'm not sure how much of the Superman family will make the cut, I much prefer Batman's, but Bizarro is just fun.
I agree we should take the time to explain our choices. The Fantastic Four should be a no-brainer for anyone's Marvel Top 100 I would hope, but they've got a extra-special place for me. I remember when I was a kid and comics cost 25 cents, my dad would give me a dollar every week to buy some comics. At first, I was young and bought Casper and Richie Rich and Bugs Bunny and Archie, but eventually I started to discover superheroes. The FF wasn't the first superhero book I ever bought, that honor goes to Spider-Man. But it was the first book that I started looking for the new issue every month.
Defenders I discovered much later, so I missed out on all their crazy 70's stuff. Dr. Strange in his own book was one that I did find and gravitate towards earlier on though. I think there was one time that I actually used "By the Hoary Hosts of Hoggoth" as an expletive without thinking about it.
Hulk was never a op tier favorite, but he's such a Marvel staple you can't leave him out, and I am drawn to play him often enough.
Nighthawk and Daimon are both here more because I kind of fell in love with their figures than for the characters themselves. And if I'm playing Strange and Hulk it is the time to play them too.

For Nighthawk you have to choose his Night or Day option. I won't hold up production for that, just choose before you go.
Strange rolls his D20 and gets 20 - free choice. And you're so lucky first turn immunity is a thing and I can't use his pulse wave-like power yet. Well I'll give him the White power, Sanctum Sanctorum - Doctor Strange and adjacent friendly characters can't be targeted by ranged combat attacks.
Funny thing is I really was planning to split them up more, but now it makes sense not to.
Lets me get a little closer than I would normally dare.

"Thank you so much for coming, Stephen," Sue Richards greeted the sorceror.
"Of course. You know whenever you need me you have but to call," Dr. Strange said.
"As long as you don't get his voicemail message that he's in Dimension Q fighting the Great Mooglog, so leave a message and I'll save the day as soon as I can," Nighthawl pointed out.
"I see you brought friends," Reed said. "Excellent. We will need all the help we can get."
"Ha! Me an' the Hulk, fighting on the same side fer once instead o' trying to bash in each other's heads," the Thing said.
"Rock Man better watch his mouth or Hulk might bash in his head anyway," the Hulk warned.
"Do we really need two fiery guys?" the Human Torch eyed Son of Satan.
"Your flames will burn their bodies. Mine sear the soul," Hellstrom answered.
Well I'm out here anyway as well start doing stuff. Nighthawk RS to K14, blasts the Barrier in J7
Thing to K7
Hulk Charges to J7 on Sensor Girl. SC is 4. AV10 on DV17. Gets 5. Strange makes it 4, which is a 1 + 3. Strange will use his die roll's power to reroll the 1. Turns it into a 4, making the total a 7 and a hit. Sensor Girl makes it 3. Crud.
Reed Perplexes Strange's DV +1. Nighthawk Perplexes Hulk's +1
Remember Thing's Had Enough Clobberin' SP. To speed things up, you may want to give me guidelines on how and when you'll choose which options, if it isn't obvious.
