Questions about unique special objects that start equipped
Some rules questions came up in last night's pre-release that nobody was 100% confident to answer. They are based on the following powers or other similar powers:
WIELDER OF THE MIRROR OF MYSOLLJH: Enchantress starts the game with the TMT #s006 Mirror of Mysolljh equipped.
(+5)Bearer of The Time Gem: Captain America starts the game with the ABPI Time Gem equipped.
I Sense A Greater Challenge: At the beginning of the game, if an opponent's force includes an additional game element, heal Astronomer 1 click past his starting line to click #0. (Current additional game elements are: ID cards, Equipment, Special Terrain, and Locations.)
1.) If you were to field 2 Enchantresses, would they both be equipped with a Mirror of Mysolljh? Some people said no since special objects are unique. Others thought yes, because they don't count toward your team build.
2.) Same question as #1, but with characters that have to pay a trait cost. If you play 2 Captain Americas and pay the 5 points for Bearer of a Specific Gem trait, do they both get the same gem? People who said yes to question 1 were split on this one. Some thought yes, again indicating that the object wouldn't count against your team build. Other said no on this one because you were now paying a cost and special objects are unique.
3.) If someone gets to start a game with an object already equipped, do the Elders of the Universe get their bonus click? Some said yes, since the team is including an additional game element. Others said no, because they don't count toward your team build.
Question 1 and 2 aren't likely to affect any sealed games, but question 3 will certainly come up in sealed games with the Elders of the Universe and the Infinity Gems all in the latest set.
Yes to all. Traits like these bring the Equipment in from outside the game. It is not included in your Starting Force, which is the only time Uniqueness matters.

Just for curiosity, could I play Enchantress with the Mirror already equipped, and play a second Mirror (assuming I had 2 Mirrors) by paying the points and placing it on the map?
Another question, if they are not considered on your starting force, why would the Elders of the Universe trait kick in? Not disagreeing, just looking for clarity as I'm playing another pre-release event in the morning and this will very likely come up.

Thanks.
The Elders trait doesn't say anything about starting forces. It checks the current force at the beginning of the game.
That doesn't read very clearly... Order of operations would be:
1. Starting force is what goes on a build sheet.
2. The game starts and Mirrors get equipped and added to your current force from outside the game.
3. "Beginning of the game" effects trigger. (Elders trait only looks at current force in this case and would see the Mirror.)
