I just had a aguement with a friend yesterday. It was about the card Jinzo.

He says that trap hole would work on jinzo because the card states that "as long as this card remains face up on the field, trap cards cannot be played". So he said "trap hole is activated before Jinzo was summoned so it works".

I don't think so. Trap hole only works when a monster is summoned, so if jinzo is summoned it cannot be activated.

What do you think? :confused:

Yes that is correct on Trap Hole with only one minor detail. Since Trap Hole would require Jinzo to be successfully summoned, it just simply wouldn't work really. Once Jinzo is successfully summoned, its effect immediately activates and Trap cards can't be activated then.

Divine Wrath doesn't stop Jinzo since Jinzo has a continuous effect sainka. Once it's summoned successfully, it's effect immediately activates.

Since Divine Wrath doesn't negate the summoning of Jinzo, it can't work on it. The only way to kill jinso with a trap card is either force it face down via Book of Moon or destroy it with Horn of Heaven and Solemn Judgment.

"Divine Wrath" can't stop "Jinzo." There is no effect to chain to (can't chain to a continuous effect).

divine wrath cannot stop jinzo.....divine wrath can stop any monster effect EXCEPT continuous, which Jinzo is. the ruling for it is on upperdeck's site if you don't believe me.

I dont think there will ever be another trap that can stop jinzo, the can opener knight.

If you need to figure out if an effect is continous, look for the following phrasings

"As long as this monster is face up on the field".

"this monster is considdered"

"This monster can be used as"

Trap Holes and the like: Bottomless Trap hole and Torriential Trinute are activated after a succesful Summoning of a monster. As stated above, this is the reason why Jinzo can not be trap holed. The instant he is successfully summoned his effect takes place. If you want to stop Jinzo negate the summoning, Horn of Heaven and Solemn Judgement Do this.

The only way you could Trap Hole Jinzo. That would be if you had Skill Drain already active on the field before Jinzo was summoned. Then you could Trap Hole him.

Correct, that would be the only way to Ring, or Trap hole Jinzo would to have skill drain out before Jinzo is Summoned. I havent managed it, but I am sure one day I will complete this feat.

Haha! Kinda funnie that you mentioned it. I trap holed a Jinzo earlier today (due to the fact that Skill Drain wuz out).

To me, it's just an overwhelming satisfaction that Jinzo can be done in by a trap card that isn't a counter! LoL!!! =P

Aw, come on folks. You forgot the most unlikely but still possible trap card that can work on Jinzo (sort of). ACID TRAP HOLE. That's one I've NEVER seen in tournament play, but it is out there, waiting for the day somebody tribute sets their Jinzo.

Are you sure that "Acid Trap Hole" would work??? I'm not 100% sure myself but something is telling me that it wouldn't. =/

How to Stop Jinzo with a Trap Card:

Card #1: Solemn Judgement, Jinzo isn't summoned, no effect for Jinzo, he dies.
Card #2: Horn of Heaven, Jinzo isn't summoned, no effect for Jinzo, he dies.
Card #3: Having a face up Skill Drain, Jinzo summons with no effect, as Skill Drain killed his effect before he hit the field, as he was summoned, but you cannot chain Skill Drain to Jinzo's summon, as you cannot Chain to Summons.
