A spell have
a trap have
A monster Effect have
and if there are any other speeds i would like to know
well heres the scenario
my opponent summons Blowback i play ring of destrection and my opponent says that he still can use Blowbacks effect
so he askes the judge there which is one of the best in belgium , and the judge says that the effect of blowback can be chained to Ring of Destruction ....
i think the judge is completly wrong ...
please tell me or explain
I think what they are talking about is priority, which is not the case here, you chained Ring of destoruction to him using the effect, which will destory Blowback dragon, what happens next I am not sure, I don't know if the effect will be negated or not due to Blowback not being on the field. I would say no since the effect has been activated, but i may be negated, I am not sure
You could not chain Blowback's effect to Ring of Destruction. However, your opponent does have priority to activate Blowback's effect when he/she summons it or another Monster, which you may then chain Ring of Destruction to. In other words, you must ask your opponent if they activate anything when they Summon before you respond with another card. If you ask and they do not do anything, you may now activate Ring of Destruction, and they may not claim to use Blowback's effect as you have offerred them their priority and they have already refused.
You are the player in Error. Your opponent was turn player, he has a chance to do somthing along the lines of a Monster effect, Trap or Spell before you can respond to the Summoning.
You should ask if he will use his Priority before activating traps or magic in response.
Also, you may NOT chain to a summon as Summonings have NO spell speed.
Then you are performing a "sloppy" chain. You did not give your opponent a chance to use his/her priority. If you went fast and saw them summon blowback and just chain RoD to kill Blow Black, they can declare they are using priority, and would be allowed to uise Blow Back Dragon's effect. His effect would resolve normally, even if RoD were to kill it.
So, like Rev said, the best way to stop anything like this from EVER happening, and of course hope you have a good Judge, always ask the person if they will use a monster effect before you try to be the first to flip a card over. Just because you can flip a card over faster does not always mean you get to be first.
