According to the text on Blast with Chain, it becomes a Spell Equip card and thus will be negated by Spell Canceller.
With Rare Metalmorph, if I have the correct text in mind, it being a continuous trap and it makes no mention of it becoming a spell equip. Maye you mean the original Metalmorph???
Well, unless it specifically states it behaves as an Equip Spell and not a Continuous Trap, I would'n't think it would be negated. Then again, I could be wrong...
If a Trap simply "equips" to the monster, then effects like that of Spell Canceller won't do anything to the effect. In order to be negated by Spell Canceller (or another Spell Negator), the Trap must specifically state that it becomes an "equip Spell Card". If all the Trap states is "equip it to the selected monster", then it is not a Spell Card and cannot be negated by effects that negate spells.
Unless it states it on the card like Blast with Chain states
"After activation, this card is treated as an Equip Spell Card. Select 1 monster you control and equip it with this card to increase the ATK of the selected monster by 500 points. When this card is destroyed by the effect of another card, select 1 card on the field and destroy it."
It states right on the card that it is treated as an equip magic card so stuff like Spell Canceller will work on it, however, stuff like Magic Jammer WILL NOT work on it since it's still a trap when activation, but by the time it is, the activation is over and Magic Jammer can no longer be chained to it.
Stuff that just says "Equip" or "Select 1 monster" or something are NOT treated as equip magic cards.
Metalmorph
Continuous Trap
After activation, this card is used to equip a face-up monster. The monster equipped with this card increases its ATK and DEF by 300 points. When attacking with a monster equipped with this card, you can further increase its ATK by an amount equal to half the ATK of your target.
Rare Metalmorph
Continuous Trap
Increase the ATK of 1 Machine-Type monster on the field by 500 points. Only once, negate the effect of a Spell Card that designates the monster. When the selected monster is removed from the field, destroy this card.
On neither card does it say "After activation, treat this card as an equip Magic Card," like it does on Blast with Chain.
Also, things like Spellbinding Circle, Nightmare Wheel, Shadow Spell, Call of the Haunted, etc, are not even "equipped" they're just targeting a monster and "connected" with it.
Ok, thanks. Didn't realize Blast with chain was the only one that mentioned it was treated as a spell. As I clearly see now the other two cards say no such thing.
