just recently got the pegasus starter deck and it has soul release in it. With this card it says "select up to 5 cards from either you or your opponents graveyard and remove them from the current duel". now if i was to remove 5 of my cards could i then use return from a different dimension to summon the monsters back to the current duel, or is that it for those cards. i was thinking it might of been old printings remove from play.
If you have any monsters (I think face-up only, but you should double-check that) removed from play, you may indeed use Return from DD or Dimension Fusion to harken them back. 'Remove from game,' 'remove from duel' etc. all mean the same thing.
LoL ofcourse you can use Return from D.D or Dimension Fusion to get back the monsters you removed using soul release. Havn't you ever seen Kaiba use it before? its like his favourite combo besides crushcard/shrink/dark monster. And just so u kno soul release and dimension fusion is in my deck.

yes, but his question was about the wording of the card, not if other people in the show had done it.
Soul release came out much sooner than Return from a different dimension and dimension fusion. Before these two cards (and later even more) there really wasn't a way to bring back any cards from the "removed from duel" pile. After their release, people realized they needed to put the cards in a specific place so other cards could be used that involved the pile. Instead of just tossing them over your shoulder like you did with Soul release in the old days, these cards needed a place to go. The 'removed from play" pile was formed.
Since old wordings didn't account for this, soul release simply didn't account for this fact. But even though the wording is different, it doesn't matter, because it is now widely accepted that cards removed from the game, duel, or whatever, go to the "removed from play" pile and cards like RftDD can be used.
And on a slight side note, since when has the show proved anything about the real rules of yughio? :)
yea u got a point.. yugi used monster reborn when it was kaiba's turn .. and he special summoned none other than the restricted egc slifer the sky dragon
Osiris isnt restricted, he's not a Duel Monsters card at all.
Soul release is nifty, and if I ran a return from a differant dimmension I'd be able to make better use of it than ditching 5 of my opponent's GY resources. Just watching them not be able to get out Skill Lacker Soldier is priceless.
Use Soul Release to power up Gren Maju Da Eiza and get 2500 LP if you have Soul Absorption in play. However, Fire Princess will only do 500 damage in that case (UDE site ruling)
Pay half of your Life Points, Special Summon as many of your monsters as possible that have been removed from play on your side of the field. During the End Phase, remove from play all monsters that were Special Summoned by this effect.
Since I can't find any specific ruling from UDE on this card; i'm going to go with the awnser: If you have 5 open monster slots on your side of the field...you can summon the 5 monsters back.....if i'm wrong...someone please shut me up :)
Osiris is to a card, hes a renamed promo under the name "slyfer the sky dragon." he just can't be played in any type of sanctioned event.
"Slifer the Sky Dragon," and anyways, he has no official rules and no official effects (like all gods) and can't be played under any condition at all, so, technically, he's not a REAL TCG card. It's physically real, yes, but not in a gaming way.
He's not a yugioh card for those reasons. You cant play him in a tourniment, it has a differant layout than a normal card, and has no rules, so therefore is no differant than a credit card at a lemonade stand, completely useless.
damnit ppl..we're talkin about soul release here..so stop making such a fuss about what i said about yugi using monster reborn to get back slifer.. jeez u ppl..
