sigh...... another question that people do not believe me so.. help out please!
Ok then. here is the situation
Player A Flip summons his cyber jar. then summons 3 monsters on the field. then Player B activates bottomless traphole. Now I was there when it happend. and I said since he did that all his monsters get removed. because BLTH does not target 1 monster it targets any or all monsters special summoned. Well he got mad and lost then spit in my face. I just want to conform this ruling as me being correct
that is correct. If you look at the text of the card, in parenthesis, there is an s, which indicates multiple monsters. if you need a ruling on it, I am including the rulings from the UDE site, which actually address the cyber jar issue directly:
This card can remove from play multiple monsters at once, if they are Summoned simultaneously. Since this card can affect multiple monsters, it does not target.
If the opponent has "Lord of D." on the field and activates "The Flute of Summoning Dragon" to Special Summon 2 copies of "Blue-Eyes White Dragon", you can activate this card and both will be removed from play. "Lord of D." does not protect the Dragons because "Bottomless Trap Hole" does not target. The same situation would occur if only 1 "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" was Special Summoned, "Bottomless Trap Hole" still does not target.
This card can only be activated when the last thing that resolved in the Duel was the opponent Normal/Flip/Special Summoning a monster(s). It cannot be activated at any other time.
If "Cyber Jar" is flipped during a Main Phase, and the opponent Special Summons "Dark Blade", "Luster Dragon", "Magical Scientist" and a face-down monster, you can activate "Bottomless Trap Hole" and both "Luster Dragon" and "Dark Blade" will be removed from play. The "Magical Scientist", face-down monster, and all monsters you Summoned will remain on the field.
If "Cyber Jar" is flipped as a result of being attacked, you cannot activate "Bottomless Trap Hole" because it cannot be activated during the Damage Step.
If the opponent Summons a monster, then you activate "Bottomless Trap Hole", and the opponent chains "Book of Moon" to flip the Summoned monster face-down, it is not removed from play by the effect of "Bottomless Trap Hole".
Use the current ATK at time of Summoning to determine if you can activate "Bottomless Trap Hole". So if the opponent Tribute Summons "Enraged Muka Muka" with 1 card in their hand, you can activate "Bottomless Trap Hole" (since its ATK is 1600).
You cannot activate this card after "Jinzo" is Summoned.
You can activate this card after a monster was Special Summoned by the effect of another card, such as "Monster Reborn".
If the opponent activates "Monster Reborn" and then chains "Call of the Haunted" (so that 2 monsters are Summoned in the same chain), and then you activate "Bottomless Trap Hole" after that chain resolves only the monster Summoned by chain link 1 ("Monster Reborn") is removed from play.
If the opponent Normal Summons "Dark Blade", then you activate "Bottomless Trap Hole", and the opponent chains "Ultimate Offering" and Tributes "Dark Blade" to Tribute Summon "Summoned Skull", the chain will resolve like this. "Dark Blade" is sent to the Graveyard and "Summoned Skull" is successfully Summoned, then "Bottomless Trap Hole" resolves and removes "Summoned Skull" from play.
Keep in mind that older versions of Bottemless dont have the (s) in thier card text so the fact that it can destroy multiple monsters summoned simultaneously is unclear just from reading it.
That constitutes as a physical attack on an official UDE Judge and it’s one of the most serious violations there are.
If he did that to ME, I would like to think I’d do everything in my power to make sure he’s BANNED from UDE tournaments forever.
But most likely, I’d tell him that I’d like to “talk” about the “ruling” after the tournament.
Waldo10032 – The Fiendish Duelist says: "What? You attack my Giant Orc while he's in Defense mode?
You shouldn't do that. He's got a very contagious sickness called "Deck Devastation Virus". Ooops! Look at that! You've been infected!!!
Well it happend at a tournement I usualy host every day. Nothing official. Dont get me Wrong I wanted to put hands on him but I know better then to do something as dumb as that. He apoligized though. At least I think he did. I made him see the ruling and he agreed
"Due to this, you would not be able to activate "Bottomless Trap Hole" after
resolving 'Cyber Jar.'"
I understand, have been using and agree with this ruling.
My question is this: Previous rulings referenced the fact that BTH was not a targeting
effect and that if BTH were used after the synchronious summoning of multiple monsters
it would remove all of them from play.
Now we all know this situation does not include Cyper Jar. But it can apply to
Dimension Fusion, Return From the Different Dimension, Big Wave Small Wave and
Human-Wave Tactics correct?
Mostly I am wondering if we should still be using the old rulings (not to old
of course) until we have new ones or what?
Some of these cards that had rulings, but have no faq_card_rulings, from Konami
I assume, still need to be judged; what do we do?
Are we to rule simply by the card text? Because if I was to rule by card text,
I'd have to say BTH is a targeting effect.
Best Regards, you guys are doing a great job. Love being off Yahoo!!!

Answer:
Keep in mind that "Due to this, you would not be able to activate
"Bottomless Trap Hole" after resolving 'Cyber Jar'" was written in the context of
the Damage Step.
If your opponent were to Flip-Summon their "Cyber Jar" during a Main Phase it would
be fine for you to activate "Bottomless Trap Hole" after the monsters are
Special Summoned and destroy the monsters your opponent had Special Summoned with
1500+ ATK.
"Bottomless Trap Hole" is not a targeting effect because it has the potential to
affect multiple monsters summoned by the same effect. ("Cyber Jar", for example)
Vs. "Dimension Fusion": You can activate "Bottomless Trap Hole" after monsters are
Summoned with "Dimension Fusion"; "Bottomless Trap Hole" destroys the Summoned
monsters on your opponent's side of the field, and your Summoned monsters are not
destroyed. (from the official FAQ)
Naturally this only applies to monsters with 1500+ ATK.
Monsters Special Summoned from "Return from the Different Dimension" can also be
destroyed by "Bottomless Trap Hole." "Return from the Different Dimension" is a bit
quirky though, as it has a timing issue related to its potential of Special
Summoning monsters during the middle of a chain. (which can potentially prevent
BTH from going after them)
Naturally you can go after the WATER monsters Special Summoned by "Big Wave, Small Wave"
if they have 1500+ ATK.

Holy-.... cow! I was just about to say the ruling was pointless because the card had the same wording as Trap Hole with only three differences. I just checked the card picture again... and there it was. The S in parantheses. I think I have a few of these things lying around somewhere...
Anyway, this card has become incredibly abusive. Cyber Jar is going to become this thing's best friend or most reliable asset depending on timing and your point of view. I'm not sure on this, but Morphing Jar #2 might help this thing as well. That is just MEAN!
frame it with a copy of the new one, and carry it with you, so they can see that the card has been erata'd. j/k. you can still use it, just make sure that they know the card has been erata'd, by having others around that you can show them, or the printed erata from upperdeck. it's really up to you. I would still use it.
Bottomless Trap Hole has always been a popular trap due to its possibility of removing from 1-5 monsters. =) I know that I've made it a point to always run one just to remove at least one of my opponent's monsters. And FYI, this ruling has always been this way, which is why it is good to do a lot of reading at times.
