PSV donates yet another card to the anti-aggro arsenal...
Nobleman of Extermination
Normal Spell
PSV-035/TP4-016 Destroy one face-down Spell or Trap Card and remove it from play.
If the card is a Trap Card, both players remove all Trap Cards of the same name from their respective Decks and remove them from play. The Decks are then shuffled.
Not only does this card serve as more than decent S/T removal, but when it hits an unchainable trap such as Sakuretsu Armor or Bottomless Trap Hole, all decked copies hit the out-of-play zone as well. I brought my trap count down to 8, and decided to run three of these cards. Not only have I managed to hit an Aggro Trap Staple 2/3 of the time, I've got some of the duelists around me mixing up their decks to avoid this card as well as Cursed Seal and Chain Destruction.
Apparently, multiplicity breeds in weakness, and while running three "Nobleman of Extermination"'s makes me weak against Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell, its benefits of potentially eliminating 3 of a pesky trap card are making me feel fairly safe.
When Trap Holes and Bottomless Trap Holes disappear, Tribute monsters other than Jinzo become immediately useable and sound in a deck. In effect, they become worth the effort. Of course, when you get nailed because you are caught off guard by some deck diversity, or merely a bad draw, little to no protective/destructive traps can really harm you.
Well, run some off-color cards (which seems to be the battle cry of all duelists tired of constant and relentless deck repetition) and you'll be well suited to taking
down those who don't.
Now please, feel free to rip this post apart for whatever reasons, I need some confirmation of playability other than my local meta anyway, cuz' two Regionals are popping up in my state next month.
My question is this: Is Nobleman of Extermination as good as I claim it is?
Other than BTH and Sakuretsu Armor there aren't too many traps that people run multiple copies of that aren't chainable.
Let's see, what other traps do people use:
Waboku
Threatening Roar
CEDevice
...all these cards you can chain, making NoE pointless.
Mirror Force
CotH
Cylinder
Ring
Torrential
...all these cards are 1 per deck, so you won't be getting the full effect out of NoE where it destroys cards in your opponent's deck (some of these are chainable anyway).
I'm sure there are a lot that I missed, but these are a lot of the main ones.
Since most of the time NoE won't be more than a crude MST, I would rather run M/T removal that can also handle stall cards (LLAB, GB, etc.).
This is true, but what other types of S/T removal do you suggest?
I agree that while NoE is more than adequate against non-chainable traps, it is still limited in its power. However, if you force the activation of a Trap that isn't in a prime situation (i.e, CEDevice when there are no creatures on the field) isn't NoE worth it? Besides, cards like CEDevice and Waboku rarely amount to card advantage, and while they are useful, they really aren't that big a problem (except for CEDevice, that is a pain against Tribute monsters other than of course, Jinzo).
Enough of my Devil's Advocate-ness, I need you to tell me what works better and is easy to acquire.
XDDD this card is far from bieng a good one.... Most opponents always place f/d cards if they are traps, quickplay spells, or bluffing ( which is rarely done). After activation the opponent would just chain to the card you wanted to destroy, and it will make the card useless....
Lets not forget about bait doll. I seriously thought that bait doll would have been really sucessful after MST was restricted. At least its done a better job than NOE.
I ran an aggro/removal deck for a short while (3x DDWL, 3x DDA, DMoC, Lesser Fiend, etc etc...I can give you the link if you want), and to go with the theme I added 2x Nobleman of Extermination. I rather enjoyed it. As long as you're using it before you play a new monster or attack, you can either get rid of non-chainable traps or cause chainable ones to 'misfire'. And, there's nothing like tagging a Sakuretsu Armor or BTH (whereas the BTH would thin out my deck by three cards XD).
If you want to get more use out of it, try using Xing Zhen Hu to stop up your opponent's set cards.

When LON debuted, Bait Doll was a staple. Little chainablility so it killed something. Returns to deck, so you can use the fun over and over again. Now there are more cards which can activate whenever to stop Bait Doll.
Nobleman of Extermination is not used for 3 reasons
1) Breaker, Tornado, Mobius, MST, and Heavy are enough.
2) Too slow and too weak (other m/t killers provide power and speed)
Thanks TwelfthFaucet, I was considering using Xing Zhen Hu anyway just for the annoyance potential and S/T defense. Now I'll deck it.
The worst thing that has happened so far by running NoE concerning myself was that I kept forcing the activation of chainable traps. However, this aspect hasn't harmed me yet because my opponent was going to use it/them(the traps, I mean) anyway. I've been able to make Smashing Ground more useful by forcing my opponent to CoTH a monter rather than lose the trap.
Unfortunately, everyone in my meta has started running negation cards and have begun diversifying their decks more. Sadly, when trap thinning occurs, it has influence on people.
However, Bait Doll is looking like it may become a new addition to my anti-S/T arsenal. There is a problem though, Bait doll can't kill f/d spells, and when people bluff, I still want something to be destroyed.
if they have 4 cih activate penalty game so they cant activate any s/t this turn, than go to town on their s/t. and if u cant hit them all dont worry u get a free attack anyway that turn.
