I would like to get some input and ideas on using the various Gaia forms. For months now my favorite deck has been my warrior deck. Even back when the only main guys were Marauding Captain, GAF, and Freed, I loved the idea of a fast deck that floods the field. Since the tins and the last few sets came out, my warrior deck has been boosted significantly, and is currently my best deck. One problem though, has always been tribute monsters. Who to run?
Well, I started with Freed, and he was my main trib. However, I have an all earth based warrior deck and he got moved to there. I tried the Fiend Megacyber for awhile, but didn't use his effect enough. I had Jinzo and Blowback Dragon in for awhile, but wanted to stay true to theme. Now it seems like I have finally found the tribute tandem I have been looking for.
The first choice is obvious. When FET came out, I immediately sought out a Silent Swordsman Lv 5. But then I noticed another card in the set, Spiral Spear Strike.
Spiral Spear Strike:
When "Gaia the Fierce Knight", "Swift Gaia the Fierce Knigth" or "Gaia the Dragon Champion" on your side of the field attacks a Defense Position monster, if the ATK of that card is higher than the DEF of the Defense Position monster, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent's Life Points. If "Gaia the Dragon Champion" inflicts Battle Damage with this effect, draw 2 cards from your Deck and discard 1 card from your hand.
Now THIS is an effect I want to take advantage of. I would like to use Swift Gaia, and try to bring out the Dragon Champion to get the second part of the effect. Before I go on I'd like to point out that the warrior deck I am referring to is a light/dark BLS based deck. I have an earth warrior deck as well but the tribs for that are Freed and Gearfried the Swordmaster.
Swift Gaia is a dark, and therefore BLS food. Also, I discard alot in the deck to power up my Blade Knights, so summoning Swift Gaia is not terribly difficult. The tough part will be bringing the Dragon Champion to the field, because I want to use the drawing effect to replienish my hand.
There are a few ways to go about this. A fusion summon is out of the question for me, because even with fusion subs it would take up too many resources. However, Metamorphosis is a definate possibility. The Dragon Champion is a level 7, just like Swift Gaia. Also, Fusilier Dragon could be used to Meta as well, but I am not entirely liking the idea of putting a machine in the deck.
So what do you all think? Might a well built deck with the discards to summon Swift Gaia be able to take advantage of Spiral Spear Strike? I am currently looking into the options, but all I know is I LOVE the effect of Sprial Spear Strike and would like to use it if possilbe. Has anybody else done this with any success? And if so, what have you found?

My friend, it’s as simple as 2 words:
Tribute Doll - Rare
Normal Spell Card Activate this card by offering a monster on your side of the field as a Tribute. Special Summon 1 Level 7 monster from your hand. That monster cannot attack this turn.
You can use this baby to summon Gaia The Fierce Knight AND Swift Gaia. And while your Gaia won’t be able to attack, consider that your Warrior deck Swarms and you’ll therefore have PLENTY of monsters to tribute.
Too desperate to wait one turn? Use Metamorphosis your Gaia or Swift Gaia into Dragon Champ and wail on them.
There is, of course, a revival card for regular Gaia (Soul Ressurection) and since you say your empty your hand out quickly for Blade Knight, you can also try “A Hero Emerges”.
There IS, of course, Stray Lambs + Book of Taiyou to flip Gaia face-up or some sort of protective trap.
Monster Gate and Reasoning are there as well.
But I think Tribute Doll is the way to go.

Good job Waldo! Hey Gizmo shouldn't this be in our warrior thread! No wonder it's buried so far down...=( I too thought about using that beautiful Spell card since Mirage is gone along with Painful, now warriors have a huge drawing mechanism that takes work to use, but hey isn't it what it's for...to get back all the cards you used to aquire that scenario! I say go for it!
Waldo- Thanks for the tip about Tribute Doll. That's one of those MFC cards we tend to forget about. Like you pointed out, if your Gaia is meta'd into the Dragon Champion, you avoid Tribute Doll's big drawback anyway.
NeoHunter- this could definately go into the warrior thread. In fact, once I get to playtest the additions to my warrior deck (I still need to get a hold of a few Gaia the Dragon Champion) I might do a write up as to how it worked out. I usually go against Chaos based decks with my warrior deck, so it will have decent competition to playtest against.
My thinking is that if I can find a good balance of the right cards, it could be a combo worth using. Swift Gaia is BLS food, and since the deck uses resources quickly, a hit or two with Gaia the Dragon Champion could work wonders in replenishment. Also, Fusilier Dragon would provide a solid revival choice, since the highest attacker in the deck besides BLS is only 2300 attack. I hate drawing Premature Burial when Jinzo or whatever is on the field, and having to select Exiled Force to take him out and leaving my side wide open for attack. That 2800 in the GY could really help in a pinch.
