Say I equip X-Head Cannon with my Heavy Mech Support Platform and I attack and my opponent chains Ring of Destruction. Even though my Platform gets destroyed and the damage it takes is 0, does my X-Head Cannon attack still go through and if it does, does it deal 1800 damage or 2300 damage?

Yes, the attack of "X-Head Cannon" would still go through, and it would deal 1800 Damage because "Heavy Mech Support Platform" was no longer equipped to it.

Ah I was pretty sure that was the outcome just wanted a second opinion. So that would also mean when someone chains it to say Mirror Force or Sakuretsu Armor, even though your monster stays alive thanks to Platform, the attack was negated and thus your monster cannot attack or get a replay.

That would be incorrect. Sakuretsu Armor does NOT negate the attack and neither does Mirror Force (see current errata). If your opponent activated either one of these in response to an attack while your monster is equipped with Heavy Mech Support Platform, your attack would still go through.

Remember that Sakuretsu Armor and Mirror Force destroy the monsters before Damage Calculation, that is why they normally don't cause battle damage. In neither case does the card negate the actual attack.
