OK, I went the the shoen jump tournament today and I was told. That If Mystic Swordsman lv2/4 Attack a facedown monster they don't get the lvl up effect. Now how does that make sense? The Card was made that way so when you kill a monster it levels. There twisting the wording around and it doesn’t even make sense.

Well, that is answered by looking at the text of the cards:


Notice how they say kills a monster as a result of Battle. When they kill one in f/d defense postion, they are killing it by an effect, an not by battle. Destroying a card by battle would be when you compare the stats of the cards, and determine which card woul be destroyed based on that.
