When this card is sent to the Craveyard as a result of battle, you can Special Summon any "Hyena"(s) from your Deck to the field. Then shuffle your Deck.

Do summoned Hyenas land on the field in any specific way (face up attack vs. face down defense) or can the controller of the card choose?

When the card doesn't specify a position, you may choose (for instance, Premature Burial says 'face-up Attack position').
Just remember that Special Summoned Monsters are always face-up, unless there is an effect in play that allows otherwise, i.e. Cyber Jar.

Unless the card states otheriwse, the monster summoned would have to be face up, in atk or def. If a card could be summoned in f/d postion it would state. So unless otherwise stated on a card, they have to be in a face up postion.

Alright, maybe I could have phrased it as 'you may choose either face-up Attack or Defense position', but I figured that wasn't necessary ;)
