Insect Queen isn't THAT great by herself, but when used right with other cards, she can be pretty powerful.
DNA Surgery + Insect Barrier is obvious so you can protect the Insect Tokens.
When you sacrifice a monster to let Insect Queen attack, she lose 200 ATK immediately, but if you destroy a monster with her, the 200 ATK will be regained by the Insect Token. Also, the Insect Token can be sacrificed for other things as well. You could also use Stumbling to make the Token instantly switch to DEF I believe as well.
Well, the Princess is much better, at least until the Lost Millenium is released. There's a monster, that looks like Odion's Mystical Beast of Serket. It's called Millenium Scorpion, and it gains 500 attack points for every monster it destroys in battle. Plus, it's level 5, which gives it two more advantages over Insect Princess:
1: Level 5 is better for Insect Imitation. Sacrifice a Level 4 monster, and get this out from the deck.
2: Level 5 is better for Morph. Balter>> the Level 6 fusions. Thousand Eyes just takes them all.
Plus, Insect Princess requires DNA Surgery, herself, and Insect Barrier for ther combo to work. Depends how much control over the duel you want, just dont use Insect Queen, please!
Your opponent won't help themselves from attacking those tokens.
Staunch Defender forces them to attack the Queen and you get one token for each monster that was forced to attack Insect Queen and now you'll have multiple tokens to either tribute for Tribute Summons, Insect Queen's attacks or for any other tribute.
Waldo10032 – The Fiendish Duelist says:
------------------------------------- Everything I know, I learned from Novastar, VenomLord, Magicien_Noir, KrazyKillRoy, Pyrofire14, Nataku, Jeff_Mop and Tyloki. So praise me for learning so well when I'm right and blame THEM when I'm wrong.
(More people will be added to this list as needed)
Everyone in here has pointed out good things, Insect Queen definately loves tokens. I run both Scapegoats and Ojama Trio in my insect deck, along with DNA Surgery. Once you turn those tokens into insects, the queen powers up fast. I got her up to like 4000 attack once, and like I've said the tokens can help to accomplish boosts like this quickly.
if its Atk points you want then when you activate scapegoat just equip it with united we stand its not as hard as keeping Insect Queen and the tokens alive
i just dont understand the point of the card if you have to summon a an insect token in attack mode with 100/ATK. It just seems stupid to me.
Uhh... I never heard that Insect Queen was any good. Quite the opposite, actually. It CAN be good but you really have to put in the effort in order to make it playable (in other words, build a deck around it). It's not considered good because it requires 2 Tributes, has a low ATK for a monster of that level, and it can't go into every deck. Whatever you heard was either hype from the anime, or someone yanking your chain...
It ONLY runs good in combos. And even with the HARD TO ASSEMBLE combos, it is MAD EASY to beat. DON'T put effort into something which will always suck.

Dum Manz Groop, insects in general are not a top tier deck type yet. I run my insect deck mostly for fun (and I'm sure many others do as well), as a change up from my main decks. Insect Queen is not a card you will run a tournament if you really want to win, but there's nothing wrong with using it in a deck otherwise. Alot of my friends have change up kind of decks too, so thats what I use my insects against. Insect Queen has awesome card art and I like getting the token boost, so it works for me. It's not like it is completely unplayable like Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth.
If you wanted to run it for the purpose of running a high-powered insect monster, Metal Armored Bug is always there...
True, but with insect queen, it is eligible for Pinch Hopper and Ninjistu Art of Transformation, so Insect queen can fit into ninja decks. Insect queen is, I believe, the most powerful 7 star insect in the game now and 7 star insects are the highest level of transformation ninja can undergo.
