I want to make a spatial collapse lock deck, but im finding it hard to actually come up with a full deck list, and one that i think might win. Cards im considering are ojama trio, wave motion cannon for when i have my lock set,and the trap that you select 2 of your opponents f/d spells or traps and they cant activate them. This is about as far as ive gotten in obvious cards to use. Now if i do get it set up i could always sit there for however long going through my deck until i get the right cards to just murder them in one turn. Now here are the problems the deck will face:
scapegoats help out big first round, but they will side deck them out alot second round to slow down my locks.
s/t destruction will be hard to deal with if they dust tornado spatial before i can use it and such.
if they have more than 5 on field already i cant use it until they have less.
obviously it limits the number of cards i can use as well, meaning every card needs to count.
burn decks can just sit there with a few burn cards like wave motion back at me and it wont phase them.
Well there it is, its a big mountain to climb but i wanna make the deck the best possible, and help or ideas is appreciated.
i dont remember if its bubble crush or heavy slump, one of them makes you and your opponent discard from your hand and field until you both have a total card count of 5, this should setup the field for spatial collapse.
this should also help with burn decks.
also the trap Xing Zhen Hu can help lock down a chain.
For protection of your Spatial Collapse card (which is the most vulnerable):
magic Reflectors
:: Im not that keen on these because their role is limited to one card/one function EDIT: magic Reflector will work for protecting cards like LLAB, WMC, and Messenger of Peace. Not for the traps. (thanks for the reminder, Terable)
Fake Trap
:: This is better since it can stop non targeting s/t removal cards like Heavy Storm
Fiend's Hand Mirror
:: This is my favorite since I can protect Spatial or an attack staller, or whatever, simply by redirecting it away. Problem obviously is that it doesnt protect from non targeting removal.
Maryokutai
:: Not a triple deck kind of card, but I have found 2 useful in stall and protection. The versitility makes it a keeper, IMO.
Stall cards:
Gravity Bind/LLAB/Stumbling/etc
:: Stall is needed in this kind of deck because so many resources are pulled away from attacking. however, anything that remains permanent can put the squeeze on you too
Messenger of Peace
:: I have gotten creamed by repeated attacks from a Shining Angel once, but still love MoP. The fact that I can let it go at any time makes it a great staller.
Swords of Revealing Light
:: Same as the above, yet more coverage. Not as permanent, true, and likely target of removal, but that's ok. Keeps em from targeting Spatial. And we know how scarce s/t removal is these days. (or is it?)
taking care of opposing s/t removal cards:
Brrr, I can think of a few cards that tick me off with my own Spatial deck- MST, Heavy Storm, Breaker, Chiron, Stamping Destruction, Cold Wave, Mobius, Swarm of Locusts, Gigantes, Giant Storm,Horus, Silent, Phoenix,......those are the main ones, I think.
Giant Trunade
:: I love this in 3 for helping to get the lock. It does work.
Xeng Zen Hu
:: Can be a lifesaver (not to mention locking up the opponent), but should be combod with the following in order to really be effective--->>
Anti Spell Fragrance
:: This gives you a better chance of saving yourself from a lot of those nasty spells, plus aiding in lockups
Monsters with removal effects are harder to deal with. there are some things, but Player's Priority gives the advantage to the opponent many, except Breaker while others are triggered effects that are in themselves difficult to deal with.
Ever wonder why Divine Wrath became so popular?
Speed
basics (Pot, Graceful, Upstart, Reload, Card D.) should be obvious here, but others that arent as obvious are things like Cat of Ill Omen, to get either Ojama Trio or Spatial (dont search for anything else)
Cyber Jar
Giving your opponent more options wont mean squat if you can lock em out of the game.
Taking care of monsters
most opponents are focused on attacking and destroying your monsters. You dont need to attack, and really need few monsters. Make em count. Metalzoav2 preferred DDWL and DD Assailants for their more permanent removal effects. I feel their attacks are too high to warrant use. They become targets for an opponent to suicide Ojama Tokens into.
A weaker monster with 1-1 removal is Yomi Ship. I like it better, but would still be leary of it.
Hammer Shot
:: why not?! you will almost always be the weaker in field presence, and this hits them for their most powerful threat.
Offerings to the Doomed
:: Dont be fooled by the draw skip condition. Being a Quickplay can save you from a crucial attack. If you have loaded your deck with draw effects anyways, you likely wont feel the pinch. Ever thought about Reckless Greed? Its not just for Exodia anymore.
Exiled Force
:: clean, simple, effective.
The WIN!!
there are several ways to try and win with this. Exodia? maybe, but I wouldnt do it.
No, the 2 best, as far as Im concerned are Wave Motion Cannon and Final Countdown.
WMC is obviously faster as it takes 8 turns max for one to finish things. Final takes 10 (yours). the choice is yours really.
I do Final Countdown simply cause I dont want to inflict one iota of damage to win.
Final analysis:
Spatial Collapse is a VERY difficult design to attempt. Im on #4 and still improving. The only things that come close are Mind on Air and FINAL.
ur right squid the deck is ungodly hard to run, i built it and tried. There are just to many variables and after they know ur deck they can adjust accordingly. the thing that sucked was with ojama trio i cant put anything in attack mode or they can ram tokens and break my lock. maybe one day some cards will come along to help the deck out, until than its not quite as good as i was wanting it to be
Ive been wanting to includ Ojama King and all the subparts of an Ojama deck for this kind of idea. It makes it more monster based, but the effect of Delta Hurricane and OKing seem to complement things well.
