I'm learning through this forum to interpet the rules exactly as they are worded, but seem to have a dilema on my hands.

Psylockeslover's review of the new rules have left me perplexed on the wording of power action.
Directly here's the question... Does barrier or smoke cloud cost an action, or is it free? Or.. does it cost an action, but may still use my alloted actions for my turn and just mark my character ie. Avengers TA?

It costs an action, just as if you had attacked with a character. "Power Action" is just the new terminology used. It eliminates wording such as “give this fig a move action but do not move him.” The new rules just state “give this fig a power action.”
