i was playin a friend and he set a monster face down then activated Chain Energy. the next turn i attacked destroying the face down Cyber Jar. here's my question: he only got one monster and i got 4. he says that chain energy makes us lose LP for each monster we are forced to "special summon" the way chain energy reads is if you play or set a card lose those LP but the monsters are being set by Cyber Jar, so does that mean any time you activate a card that makes you put something on the field you lose LP with chain energy? like Monster Reborn, Shallow Grave, Premature Burial, etc. i don't think the lp would be lost but i wanna know before i play him again in case i'm wrong. thanks for the help
I am 99% sure that you would not take damage from all the monsters. I seem to remember looking up that with monster reborn and the ruling was that you don't take damage for the monster summoned. However, that was a long time ago, and things could have changed. I'll look it up.
Edit: I found the ruling. Here it is, straight from yugioh-card.com
CHAIN ENERGY
"Chain Energy" applies only to cards played or Set from your hand, not cards that are activated when already Set on the field, or to cards placed onto the field by effects like "Cyber Jar"’s Flip Effect.
I'd have to say thats a pretty big no to taking damage.
yeah i found it on the UDE site only if the card is played from hand not cyber jar =\ that sucks i shoulda won that game then >_< cuz i lost like 2000 LP via that effect and he then proceeded to burn me the last i had left =\
