My Current Favorites: Interdimensional Matter Transporter

Interdimensional Matter Transporter
Type: Trap
Select 1 face-up monster on your side of the field and remove it from play until the End Phase of the turn this card is activated.
This card has been kicking around for quite a long time now. It's been good the entire time, however it wasn't until a few weeks ago that I really started playing it and seeing how well it works. I've been working on an Element Deck that uses Elemental Mistress Doriado. The Elemental Mistress is great, however she is very fragile. She is crucial to the deck, so getting her to stay around is a high priority. With an attack of 1200, this isn't always an easy task.
Enter Interdimensional Matter Transporter.
I have Elemental Mistress Doriado and Element Dragon face up on the field. My opponent decides to play Lightning Vortex. I chain Interdimensional Matter Transporter to the Lightning Vortex removing Elemental Mistress Doriado. Now only my Dragon is destroyed and Elemental Mistress Doriado will come back at the end of the turn, meaning I'll be free to use all the Element effects again during my turn.
This card also works well against attacks when you'd like to save your monster and against other metagame favorites such as Torrential Tribute, Mirror Force, Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, Tribe Infecting Virus, Exiled Force, Book of Moon, and many others.
The big thing to remember about this card is timing. You really need to think a few turns ahead for when you are going to want to use this card. Since it is a Trap it will be on the field for a turn before you can use it. This is really the only thing you have to keep in mind.
Looking back I'm really surprised that this card didn't make a splash on the metagame during the Invasion of Chaos Traditional Format days. If you chain this when your opponent "blows up the world" with Chaos Emperor Dragon you'll still have a monster on the field at the beginning of your turn. It's a simple yet effective card that keeps getting more and more playable as the days go on.
Hah! Finally someone saw something good in this card...
Back when Jae Kim (of Pojo) was b!tching about My Body As A Shield, I was using this in my Mecha Goat-Meta Control. Not only is it free in protecting your field advantage, I can also use it with Fusilier Dragon to get its 2800 attack. That's some raw power the typical Goat-Controls lack. :p
I actually saw this card being used a while ago...(when Scientist wasn't banned) because it would save the fusions special summoned. I don't think that this card belongs in every deck though, because there are simply better traps to use sometimes.
I tried running IMT in a deck when I first got it, but I learned the hard way that it's role in any deck is not to protect monsters from the opponent, but more from itself. Chaos Emperor Dragon is a good example, but it mainly was supposed to be used with Mirage Knight (since they did come from the same set).
And as for Exiled Force and IMT saving it, are you sure about that? I thought Exiled Force had to be tributed as a cost, and thus be in the Grave already, for the effect to activate. It would be too late for IMT to save it.
It is a decent card. It doesn't really lose you any advantage since you are usually just going to lose IMT instead of a monster. However, I think that its competitor for playing time is Book of Moon. If you think about it, both are used for roughly the same thing. True, IMT is better at this, but BoM is easier to use and can also be used for blocking attacks.

I think he might've meant save your monster from Exiled Force's destruction effect probably.
I use this card in a few decks, Mirage Knight decks being one I run 3 in, as well as 3 Dimensionhole and I liked to use it to save my Chaos Emperor Dragon from its own effect or another monster from its effect.
It's too bad the monster comes back during your end phase, so it doesn't help keep Spirit's on the field like Dimensionhole does.
But, yeah, this card doesn't just go into any deck.
Actually, another quick sidenote that I forgot to mention is that you can also use IMT to help get rid of some cards (though, not played much) like Spellbinding Circle, Shadow Spell, Nightmare Wheel or "break the connection" to Premature Burial, Call of the Haunted (just remember that Call of the Haunted will end up staying in your m/t zone as a dead card) or "attachment" mons like Kisetai, Archfiend of Gilfer, etc.
