if it still here ladies and gentleman... in the for of guess what???? DES LACOODA. even if offensive decks it still works... lets see the average deck runs 1 BoM, 2-3 controllers, 2-3 sakuretsus or bottomless trap holes..... or both, 1 swords, some decks have MoP in there, some have threatening roar, decks run cylinder.... and MANY MORE. all of these cards stop attacks and keep your monsters face down making it easy to use their effects... des lacooda is just advantage people, why not use it? and if you have another unknown monster set, or a high attack out there, you opponent will be more worried about that and want to ger rid of that first.. so lacooda will last... so again i ask, why not use it?

agree/disagree?????
The problem is...you have to waste all that deck space JUST for protecting Lacooda really...while you could use it for something that can benefit your deck more (and sooner)..
Lacooda has been on the rise lately and people are getting more/less (depending on meta) worried about most f/d mons which is why a lot of people are packing Mystic Swordsman LV2 and Drillroid...
It's an ok card for draw power, but requires a lot of deck working to use it...you shouldn't just toss it into a deck with a lot of needless protection cards JUST for the possibility of drawing again....I mean...I don't really see what's so bad about Jar of Greed...the possible Good Goblin Housekeeping + Provisions combo and such...
Des Lacooda is only good in Exodia or stall-based deck really..
I recently faced one of the best stall decks I've ever seen. It mainly uses Fairy Lily and Kinetic Soldier, but with all the stall in the deck, Des Lacooda was a beast in that deck. That's probably the only deck I can see that can abuse Des Lacooda. Otherwise, as Inuyasha said, Jar of Greed is pretty good also. Set it, and when they try to destroy it, chain and draw a card. That's pretty good.
Lacooda can be decent in the average deck too...maybe just add a Messenger of Peace to keep stalling. Most decks run Swords and monster control like Sakuretsu anyway so that's just more time to keep using Lacooda's effect.
But one problem with that is that you're using cards that you normally use in your deck for whatever purpose now for the sole purpose of protecting Des Lacooda, which may ruin deck synergy. Personally, I wouldn't like to just throw in Messenger of Peace because I have a Des Lacooda. Morphing Jar seems to be better since it can more fit in any deck without ruining anything and can disrupt your opponent's hand at the same time when you are ready to use it.
monster recovery is probably better than reload it at least has the nice added bounceback function and you can use a goat to trigger it if you just want to reload your hand but you don't get to draw for the goat.
In a offensive deck with some big monsters around maked sorcerer could be slightly more useful as it goes in for the direct attack after your beatsticks kills 900 lp and let's you draw a card. besides if you have dark ruler ha des sitting out on the field next to masked sorcerer they pretty much risk getting smacked in the face by ha des or something should they attack the mask.
If you need draws, consider Dark Mimic (LV1 and LV3). Flip summon LV1, draw, tribute for LV3. If LV3 is destroyed in battle (ram it into your opponents 1000 ATK or higher monster) you draw two cards. Potentially (yet situationally) you could draw three cards out of draw phase in the same turn. Appropriate can help also, if Jinzo or Royal Decree isn't on the field. Of course Airknight is the best card for extra draws right now.

The main problem with Appropriate now is that your opponent has to draw a card outside their draw phase to even activate it at all (still don't draw 2 cards) and then only afterwards will you get to draw 2 cards when they draw outside their draw phase.
Like you said...most of the commonly use Draw power is gone now, leaving only a few options people are actually willing to play like Airknight, Des Lacooda and such and, as we know, they never really last that long, so you'd have to let the opponent gather a bigger hand while you do also if you want to get the effect. Of course, there are ways of doing this without giving advantage really like Dragged Down to the Grave or something.

Oh, forgot to mention Morphing Jar. Situational, and extremely hard to acquire, but five new cards can make a big difference.
Ive Played your deck so I know from experience its a good card. There are other options but none that can do it over and over again on its own. And its an earth zombie. Thats pretty good.
