I'm trying to collect all Known Exodia One Turn / First Turn Kills, with the purpose of trying to invent a few new combinations or variants.
They only have to be Traditional - Legal ;-)
So Far I've just got these two:
*****************************************************
2 x Manticore Of Darkness
+ Card Of Safe Return
- FTK possible if combined with a card destruction or similar -
*****************************************************
Royal Magical Library
Gearfried the iron knight
Butterfly Dagger Elma (would Archfiend Of Gilfer do aswell?)
- FTK possible with recursal or ultimate offering -
*****************************************************
If I have understood this correctly, and forgive me if I didnt, but:
Missing the Timing: Suppose you have 3 copies of "Heart of the Underdog" on the field, and draw a Normal Monster Card during your Draw Phase. All 3 copies of "Heart of the Underdog" immediately activate their effects, and because they activate simultaneously, they form a chain with Chain Links 1, 2, and 3. If you draw a Normal Monster card for Chain Link 3 or Chain Link 2, your copies of "Heart of the Underdog" do not activate again. This is because they are "when… you can" optional Trigger Effects, and you "miss the timing" because you drew the Normal Monster Card during a chain and not as Chain Link 1. However, if you draw a Normal Monster Card for Chain Link 1, all 3 copies of "Heart of the Underdog" will activate their effects again.
I see this as:
Draw Phase, you draw a normal monster, and show it to your opponent. With 3 HotU on the field, you draw 3 cards. Is this Correct? 1 card for each one on the field. Then for chain link 1, the first HotU to go on the chain, if you drew another normal monster, there effects activate again, assumably, you drawing 3 more cards. BUT if its chain link 2, or 3, you miss the timing, as per said in the ruling above.
Someone correct me is ANY of the above stated by me was incorrect, I would fancy to make a deck based on this. xD
You just about have it. It is correct that you would draw 3 cards, 1 for each Heart of the Underdog, but since they form a chain, you only get 1 chance to activate the "If its a normal monster, draw again" effect, which is the last card you draw.
In japan the one turn exodia deck focused on going through the deck quickly by dumping some exodia pieces from the opening hand into the graveyard with card destruction then useing the new hand reviving those pieces with dark factory of mass production (limbs) and monster reincarnation (exodia head) I don't really know the specifics but aparaently it would win with some skilled players 90% of the time or more.
one concept for exodia that is becomeing fun in the united states is "exodia's bistro" The point to this is to set up the deck with the self replaceing monsters one element set leading to another type based set.
as examples then to creature swap or shiens spy the opponent a attack position copy of bistro butcher after this ram as many copies of the self replaceing monsters into bistro butcher. you'll take a bit of damage each attack but you get to replace the destroyed monster (thinning your deck) and drawing 2 more cards for each destroyed monster the replaced monster can also attack in the same battle phase since the replacement happens in the damage step.
Well, I'm currently fine tuning my "fiendish exodia" deck using the following theory that searching is more faster than drawing. To that extent, I'm running a couple tactics...
Emissary + Metamorphosis + Puppet Magic of Dark Ruler: Send Emissary for the search due to Metamorphosis then revive it for another go around.
Emissary + Toon Cannon Soldier + Puppet Magic of Dark Ruler: Another fast way to get Emissary to the graveyard. Toon Table of Contents makes for a wonderful deck thinner here so that the remaining cards are some drawing, field presence support.
While its not quite OTK, when I have a couple emissaries on the field and get Toon Cannon Soldier out, the search power becomes immense.

Of course, Elma only is allowed in traditional and I don't think Gilfer would work since it activates as a monster and not a magic card so Library wouldn't get a Counter....
Other than those 2, there really is no other OTK except for really fast Exodia drawing.
I will definately try the HotU one, 6 cards, so it seems, is good right?
5 Exodia Pieces, 3 HotU, 32 Normal Monsters, (I will find them lol)
Thanks,

Hmm, call it a tad situational, but I think you could pull off an OTK Exodia this way...
Toon Cannon Soldier and two Emissaries on the field.
Play Last Will
Tribute Emissary for Cannon's Effect (get Right Arm)
Use Last Will's effect to Special Summon Sangan
Tribute Sangan for Cannon's Effect (get Head)
Tribute second Emissary for Cannon's Effect (get Right Leg)
Play Puppet Magic of Dark Ruler, tribute Cannon Solder for Emissary
Play Metamorphosis. Tribute Emissary for Karbonala Warrior (get Left Arm)
Play Second Puppet Magic/Premature Burial, get Emissary Back
Suicide/Tribute for Dark Ruler (get Left Leg)

Reloads are good too, because they speed up the process of digging out a HotU, plus they can still be played in your Draw Phase to trigger HotU, and therefore not breaking the chain.
At the shonen jump in charlotte in june at heroes, the HOTU combo was basically killed. The HJ said you get only one draw, so even if you draw the same # of normal monsters as you have HOTUs on the field, you still only get the draw effect once per turn.
During your Draw Phase, if the card you DRAW is a Normal Monster Card, you can DRAW 1 more card by showing the card to your opponent.
UDE says:
Missing the Timing: Suppose you have 3 copies of “Heart of the Underdog” on the field, and draw a Normal Monster Card during your Draw Phase. All 3 copies of “Heart of the Underdog” immediately activate their effects, and because they activate simultaneously, they form a chain with Chain Links 1, 2, and 3. If you draw a Normal Monster card for Chain Link 3 or Chain Link 2, your copies of “Heart of the Underdog” do not activate again. This is because they are “when… you can” optional Trigger Effects, and you “miss the timing” because you drew the Normal Monster Card during a chain and not as Chain Link 1. However, if you draw a Normal Monster Card for Chain Link 1, all 3 copies of “Heart of the Underdog” will activate their effects again.
“Heart of the Underdog” doesn’t only activate if you draw a Normal Monster Card for your standard draw. It will also activate its effect if you draw a Normal Monster Card with a card effect such as “Reload”, “Jar of Greed”, or “Heart of the Underdog”.
When you draw a Normal Monster Card, if you want to activate the effect of “Heart of the Underdog” you have to show it to your opponent immediately. You can’t do anything else in between.
A Normal Monster Card means a yellow card with no effect. A Ritual Monster with no effect is not a Normal Monster Card. A card like “Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon” is not a Normal Monster Card.
When you show a Normal Monster Card to your opponent to activate “Heart of the Underdog”, your opponent can chain “Drop Off”. You will have to discard that Normal Monster Card, but “Heart of the Underdog” still resolves its effect.
If you draw multiple cards at the same time during your Draw Phase, such as with “Reload”, only 1 of the cards needs to be a Normal Monster to trigger “Heart of the Underdog”, since they are all drawn at the same time. If you activate “Reload” in your Draw Phase and draw 5 Normal Monster Cards, your “Heart of the Underdog” only activates 1 time because it says “card(s)”.
MAKING IT DIFFICULT (P.S. UDE-TEXT JUST ENDED):
During the draw phase I draw a normal monster and I let the effect of HOTU activate ... I Draw another Normal Monster. Since I'm still in my draw phase, I should be able to show it to my opponent to draw another card and so on and so on ... The operative word in the card effect is DRAW. If it had said PICK UP and add to your hand, you'd only would have gotten it's effect once, but now, you can DRAW till you have a spell, trap or an effect monster.
The ruling from UDE doesn't contain a mistake when it mentions cards like reload and jar of greed, but in that case you'd have to chain them to your own draw
You could also use the OTK that I tried a while back.
Combo is this:
Start your turn by discarding Manticore of Darkness(Card Destruction, Ect)
Hopefully you have gotten or have another Manticore in hand. Play Card of Safe Return.
End turn, Discard/tribute manticore for the one in the graveyard. Tribute that one for the one you just sent to the grave, rinse and repeat. Just keep the tributing up until you have drawn all of your pieces and you win.
The manticore-card of safe return combo can even be launched by using painfull choice on an unaware opponent ;)
Advanced players will know what is comming from a mile away :disappoin
