hello guys i need some help countering the horus cards,my dark magician spellcaster deck seems to have difficulty against it. any suggjestions would be apriciated

HalfDemonInuyasha listed some really good cards to counter Horus here. Look at your deck, and see how many cards would defeat the Horus monsters. If you only have a few, you may need to add more monster based and trap based forms of removal, otherwise Horus will lock you down and your spells will be useless.

I prefer Exiled Force. It can be sanganed out and can't be stoped except by 5 cards in the whole game. DDWL is also a great option.

penguin soldier is really fun, bounce back level 6 so no level up or bounce back 8 leaving it stuck in their hand.

Its best to counter Horus with your monsters rather then traps. Most high level Horus deck will run Royal Decrees to establish a spell and trap lock.

For spellcasters Tsukuyomi, Old Vindictive Magician, and Injection Fairy Lily are your best monster choices. Horus is only poweful face up. Flipping it face down levels it vulnarble to spells like any other monster. OVM can be combined with Apprentice Magician for a quick 1, 2 removal. And Lily has plenty of power to take down Any level of Horus.

Trap wise you have powerful discard based traps like Raigeki Break or Phoenix Wing Wind Blast. Especially for Dark Magician decks. Most traps can take down Horus which is why its common to see Royal Decrees or triple Dust Tornadoes run with Horus Decks.

Most players run Exiled Forces, D.D. Assailants, Warrior Lady, Jujitsu Master and various traps that seem to prevent Horus from being too overwhelming in this metagame.

I have a Horus deck. Ironic, this topic is. HAHAHA...no. Stupid planets. :speechles

Anyways...

Another good card to get by Horus (though its effect is a little lackluster) is Spiritualism.

Get that Royal Decree out of the way without any worry of Horus negating it and then unleash your traps before they can get Royal Decree back onto the field.

thanks guys i apriciate the help. looks like i need to get my hands on an ifl,ive sidedecked a royal oprresiion(some of the top guys at the store run horus and zombie so i figured itd be good).


p.s,on a non-related note to the topic,im considering moving lightning vortex to the sidedeck,should i do that then,thanks.
