I searched (and couldn't find anything on these questions), so you can't say I didn't look around.
Here's a few situations I've come across.
1. Altar for Tribute: Can Wildhear/Shien be used for this card? It selects, and I believe traps can target them.... From what I understand, it wouldn't be sent to the Grave..... but would you get the Life point gain?
2. Assault on GHQ: Again, select Wildhear/Shien.....It won't be distroyed..... but will the opponent still have to discard?
3. Covering Fire: Will Wildheart/Shien's attack be applied, or be increased? Probably not.....
4. Destruction Ring: It won't destroy them, but will the damage still take place?
5. Fairy's Hand Mirror: Will it target them?
6. Generation Shift: It won't destroy them, but can you still add the copy to your hand?
7. Physical Double: Will this work?
8. Rope of life: It can be special summoned, but they won't gain the attack boost, correct?
9. Spiritual Earth Art - Kurogane: It won't be tributed but will the special summon still occur?
Most questions can be answered by reading the card.
1. Read the card, they can't be effected by trap cards, period.
2. No, the effect calls for a monster to be destroyed.
3. Once again, they can't be effected by trap cards.
4. Please read the cards, they are not effected by traps.
5. You have to target it to either another magic or trap card.
6. You must destroy it to get the effect.
7. Once again, the cards aren't effected by traps...
8. Uneffected by traps.
9. Uneffected by traps.
Please be more specific. Tell me WHY they won't work, instead of acting like a jerk and telling me to read the card 50 times. I just wanted to be certain of the workings of the cards combinations. Is that so fricken horrible?
1. Is it because the monster is the cost? And since the cost can't be sent to the grave, the other part of the effect won't activate. Is that correct?
2. My bad.
3. Wait, so Wildheart/Shien can't be selected as the monster who's attack increases the other monster? But I thought it could be selected, just not effected....
4. Since the effect is tied together, it doesn't work. I should have seen that, my bad.
5. Fairy's Hand Mirror
Group: Trap Card
Type: Trap
Switch the opponent's Spell Card effect that designates 1 monster as a target to another correct target.
Huh? It doesn't say anything about redirecting it to a spell/trap. It targets a monster. If Wildheart/Shien is targeted, will the effect continue? I'm assuming it will because it can be targeted, just not effected.
6. The cost thing again? I always have trouble with this. Sometimes i see the text as 2 seperate effects, not a cost and effect.
7. Physical Double
Group: Trap Card
Type: Trap
You can only activate this card during your opponent's turn. Select 1 monster on your opponent's side of the field and Special Summon 1 "Mirage Token" in face-up Attack or Defense Position on your side of the field. The "Mirage Token" has the same Level Type, Attribute, ATK, and DEF as the selected monster. Destroy the "Mirage Token" at the end of the turn.
Wildheart/Shien only take part in the selection process. It's uneffected for the rest of the effect. Only the Token is effected. So why won't this work?
8. Please be more specific. If you're saying it can't be special summoned, you're wrong. It can be. That's proven by the ruling with Call of the Haunted. Only the attack would be uneffected.
9. Again, this would be a cost, right? Meh, there's always face-down use, i suppose.
1. Altar for Tribute: Can Wildhear/Shien be used for this card? It selects, and I believe traps can target them.... From what I understand, it wouldn't be sent to the Grave..... but would you get the Life point gain?
No..."Sending to the Graveyard" is the cost for activating Altar for Tribute in the first place. Being unaffected by the EFFECT is irrelevent. It's just like how Horus LV6 can be "sent to the Graveyard" for the cost of Level Up!
So E. Hero Wildman and Tenkabito Shien CAN be sent to the Graveyard if selected for the cost and you WILL gain LP.
2. Assault on GHQ: Again, select Wildhear/Shien.....It won't be distroyed..... but will the opponent still have to discard?
E. Hero Wildman and Tenkabito Shien will NOT be destroyed since destroying them is an EFFECT of the card.
As rulings state for it....
"If you cannot destroy a monster with this effect, you cannot send cards from your opponent's Deck to the Graveyard."
3. Covering Fire: Will Wildheart/Shien's attack be applied, or be increased? Probably not.....
It depends on the situation.
If E. Hero Wildman or Tenkabito Shien are the one's being targeted for the ATK increase, no, they will not gain it.
However, if something ELSE is being attacked, you can use it and transfer E. Hero Wildman or Tenkabito Shein's ATK strength to the OTHER monster since it's not affecting Wildman or Shien in any way, but the monster being targeted for the increase.
4. Destruction Ring: It won't destroy them, but will the damage still take place?
It will not destroy them, however, just like with Assault on GHQ...
"If the monster targeted by "Destruction Ring" is destroyed in a chain before "Destruction Ring" resolves, then the monster was not destroyed by "Destruction Ring'"s effect and no damage is inflicted."
...this basically means that if no monster is actually destroyed, then no damage is dealt at all.
5. Fairy's Hand Mirror: Will it target them?
Fairy's Hand Mirror is not affecting Wildman or Shien in any way at all. It's simply redirecting a Magic Card effect to affect them. Basically, it's affecting the Magic Card, not the monsters. It's just like how Waboku affects the DAMAGE they do and not the monsters themselves.
6. Generation Shift: It won't destroy them, but can you still add the copy to your hand?
As said for Assault on GHQ and Destruction Ring. A monster must be destroyed in order for the effect to fully resolve. If a monster is unable to be destroyed, then you do not search your Deck, nor shuffle it.
7. Physical Double: Will this work?
Physical Double is not "Affecting" the monster in any shape or form.
8. Rope of life: It can be special summoned, but they won't gain the attack boost, correct?
Yes, they can be brought back and yes, they will NOT gain the 800 ATK boost.
9. Spiritual Earth Art - Kurogane: It won't be tributed but will the special summon still occur?
This time, the tributing is a COST for activating, so E. Hero Wildman CAN be tributed for the cost and it CAN be Special Summoned by the effect as well.
Thank you, Half, for taking the time to answer my questions specifically. I realize it must have been tedious work. You are an excellent contributor to this site and probably one of the only reasons why I keep showing up.

Some monsters are “unaffected by Spell Cards”. The more complete meaning of this is: “unaffected by the effects of Spell Cards while this monster is face-up on the field”.
These monsters can still be used to pay costs for Spell Cards (like “Level Up!” or “Mystik Wok”). They can be revived with “Monster Reborn” or “Premature Burial”.
If a monster is unaffected by Spell Cards, that only applies to the monster. It does not apply to a player. For example, if “Snatch Steal” is equipped to a monster that is unaffected by Spell Cards, control of the monster will not switch but the opponent will still gain 1000 Life Points during each of their Standby Phases. Nor does it apply to something like “Metallizing Parasite – Lunatite”, which would still be destroyed instead of the equipped monster, even if the monster itself was unaffected by Spell Cards.
If a monster is unaffected by Spell Cards, that extends to any attacks the monster makes. A monster unaffected by Spell Cards can attack while “Swords of Revealing Light” is active, and its controller will not have to pay for “Toll” or “Gravekeeper’s Servant” in order to attack with it. It can also ignore the effects of “The Dark Door” or “Vengeful Bog Spirit”.
Spell Card effects can still be applied to monsters that are unaffected by Spell Cards, but their effects will simply disappear. It’s like there’s a force field surrounding the monster, protecting it from the Spell Card’s effect. However, the Spell Card still “sees” the monster and may attempt to apply its effect on the monster.
Example 1: A player has “Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV6” and “Blue-Eyes White Dragon” on the field and the opponent activates “Fissure”. The effect of “Fissure” looks for the lowest ATK monster, and attempts to destroy “Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV6”, but that monster is unaffected by Spell Cards and isn’t destroyed, and the effect of “Fissure” just disappears. Fissure does not try to “skip” “Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV6” and try to destroy “Blue-Eyes” instead.
Example 2: The opponent controls “Silent Swordsman LV5” and “Gemini Elf”. The turn player controls a “Sheep Token” and activates “Creature Swap”. When “Creature Swap” resolves, the turn player selects his “Sheep Token” to give to the opponent. The opponent can select “Silent Swordsman LV5” for the effect of “Creature Swap”. However, since that monster is unaffected by Spell Cards, the force field around him nullifies the effect of “Creature Swap”, and no monsters change sides. (Note that this is very different from monsters that cannot change sides, like “Mataza the Zapper” or “Blindly Loyal Goblin”. These monsters cannot be selected for “Creature Swap” and another monster must be selected instead.)
Coke is only good for things I can't mention due to imperessionable young minds. But Half, try Vault. It tastes like Mountain Dew and energizes like Red Bull. And you really do give some crystal clear explanantions.
I tried to pm you but it wouldn't go through. Lol. Try wal-mart. The ones around here have them 2 one liter bottles for $1.50. I didn't want to spam too much, but Vault is too good to resist. ;)
