I've used variations of this before and belive me, DARK MAGICIAN DECKS WORK. Never let anyone tell you diffrent. I've managed to get Black Magician's out on my first turn MANY times. 2500 attacker on turn 1 + thousand knives and Dark Magic Attack in hand = holy crap. O_O

looks like a fun deck, but what the heck do you do if you draw 4-5 tributes and a couple of useless cards to start? With 9 tribs, and many situational cards, how often does that happen?

Not as often as you'd think. ;)

The worst opening draw I've ever had with a DM deck was two DM's, Curtain (which was useless cause I only had 2 DMs in the deck...), DMG, Magician of Faith, and the first draw was a Premature Burial... :ermm:

This is a pretty cool looking deck. I've only ever seen one working DM deck, but now that number is raised to two. I'm not sure how I'd fix it since I've always worked on the other side, Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Anyway, I give this 8.5/10

if there aren't that many bad draws with that many tribs, then i think i might take a shot at building a decent dmag deck myself (i've thought up a couple, but for some reason i almost always end up with something like 2 dmags, mag dim, sorcerer, sage's stone, and a couple of other tribs)...oh well, back to the drawing board : )

I dont mean to get all "heart of the cards" but I realy do think it comes down to the luck of the draw...

The main reason the Tribs don't get in the way is all the ways of special summoning them...

Magical Dimension is the KING of spellcaster special summoning...

Curtain of Black Magic, while not legal in tournys (yet), is an absolute staple in DM decks. It's saved me more times than I can count. A free 2500 attacker FROM THE DECK is well worth half your life points.

I've used them on my opening turn, and belive me, it's not all that hard to start off at a 4000 lp dis-advantage if you have the means to hit hard and fast. If you do it right, they wont recover...

The point, DM decks work. Period. :p

PS: Why exactly have they not released Curtain in english? Or MoBC for that matter?

Because if they released them here as quickly as they did in japan, DMG decks would have owning every other deck type, magic/trap removal covered with dark magic attack, monster removal and easy hand summoning covered with magical dimension/ thousand knives(if you like it), simple deck summoning covered with black magic curtain, and easily put, a load of powerful monsters all-so-easy to get out(dark magicians overpowering sacred phoenix, monarchs, jinzo, etc.. pretty much any of the meta) Also, with magical merchant running a-muck(easily discarding monsters from your deck, theres the ever-simple dark magician girl, easily brought out with magicians circle and such, at an overwhelming potential 3800 attack points..
Their just waiting to bring things out until they think that our meta is powerful enough to counter them.

That's awsome! But of course even if it was it'd be uber hard to get ahold of one. But that would be cool to have an english one in my deck next to the Japaneese one I just got from you...(thanks again by the way, I can't stop lookin' at it's awsome coolness :grin: )

I dont think they will change the name, b.c. DMG says magician of black chaos in its text... Also, they let "black" slip for black tyranno.. I dunno
