I need to build a great deck, can someone help me.
Hello. I am having trouble building a geck. but I can't. I mean I have good cards and I also have a problem with magics. I PUT TO MUCH!!!! Please can somebody give me ideas or their thoughts. thank you :eek:
Deck lists from the top decks around the country. Deck lists from Regionals, Shonen Jump Championships, and even National Championships. That is the ideal site to find a decent deck build to run.
Its best if you dont encourage netdecking...anyways the best way to build a great deck is to first think of a theme.
Why, its what helps win =\.
I am all for originality and wacky new fun decks, but leave it for casual play. If you want to get anywhere in this game and win, you've gotta netdeck and run cookie. To win, you must go to the "darkside" and netdeck.

And I take it that you have to copie others decks just to win?

(looks like you have more trouble with spelling and grammer...lol)
Try to stick to a theme, such as:
monsters= type (insect, fiend, ect.)
spells (magics)= clear field, power/revive mon., ect.
traps= sto atk., block (trap/magic jammer), ect.
i agree with orginalty but i use a chaos deck and love it im not trying to run exact same deck i think i may try a horus splash in a chaos or soul deck
Er. No offense to all you netdeckers but you clearly didnt earn the win. Your win is more of a result of having too much money at your disposal and no brains. The OTK that featured on metagame was a budget deck that raped many cookies. Cookie is an easy way to win, but it makes no statement on your ability to play the game or create a deck but is a better reflection on your ability to copy real players and spend your lunchmoney on cards that you see on the internet. Get some skill before saying originality sucks.

Dude, you really have no idea. I never play cookie, but the top decks are never an auto win, especially when you are in a mirror match against another cookie. One WILL lose. And the better player will win.
Don't bother saying it's in the draw, because that's BS as well.
If you want to talk skill, and talk trash to people who would rather WIN when they are paying good money to enter the tournament in the first place, then go try a more complicated game, like MTG or VS. Both games have a wide variety of decks, but each has it's top decks that reign over 90% of every format. Generally these tops decks are hard as hell to pilot and it's always the better player on top.
Er. I do play MTG. And dont tell me originality doesnt cut it there. Because the Worldgorger upset victory (and before that, Psychatog) were both randomly new decktypes that popped out of nowhere and essentially won the whole shebang. I havent kept up with MTG in a while (since the release of Charbelcher) but you will realize that many decks (Mophling *cough* st4k5 *cough* MonoRed *cough*) arent the "auto-win" they used to be when they were relatively new. Decktypes phase in and out, but theres still a decent balance.
YGO players are just less mature and feel more comfortable stealing an idea and running with it than making their own unique hybrid that can compete with top teir decks (*cough* Stompy).
EDIT: Just realized I didnt address your main concern.
Top8 = BS
Essentially the same deck makes it. You know exactly what they can do in that situation, and as the game goes on you do realize certain trends / techniques of the opponent. Makes it considerably easier. It also helps that the person is playing essentially the same deck as you. Its very little skill to get to top8 these days. Unoriginal cookie players just take a deck off the net and learn its workings and run with it.
First off, the deck should be a reflection of your playstyle. Top8 should be a mix of varieties but its more of a reflection of what the game has come down to. Netdecking.
I dare you to prove how copying a deck off the internet, ordering the cards of ebay and playing it for a world championship proves you are skilled.
ive been palying mtg since i was in 2nd grade and im in 10th now. mtg is a very diverse game when it comes to decks i have many good decks in mtg. oh and for the person who says that peopel with the cc decks are rich thats a lie all u gotta do is have some luck pull and save money to get what u need for any card game
