Well, my favorite thing to use for anti Nobleman tech is Bigh Shield Gardna. IMO, he is pretty much a perfect first turn play. You set him, they play Nobleman, and it is negated. If they summon and attack, there is pretty much no way they are going to get through his defense that turn.
I guess you could also use things like Cursed seal of the forbidden spell to negate the first and keep them from playing a second one, though that might hurt you and it is rather costly considering you must discard a spell card.
puff. Big shield is poo. Mid sheild is is way better. has the same effect as Big shield but with a added bonus of flipping it face down making him safe from smashing ground. The only drawback of the card is a smaller defense. But 1800 defense is still great.

I summon Cyber Dragon, you lose. Big Shield is superior.
I agree, double Nobleman has definately contributed to the high luck factor this format. Other than just running Big Shield, the best way to beat it, is to try to bait it out on cards you can afford to lose. First turn, set Reaper or something as a bluff, draw out the Nobleman, then next turn, set your more valuable Spy. You have to try to read your opponent.
Or you can just run triple Train, Slate, and Return.
Or just don't Set monsters face-down so often (or at least not so many that are FLIP: effects anyways)
That's actually a bad idea. A better idea would be to NEVER set monsters, but if you set them every once in a while, what are the chances that they aren't holding that Nobleman that's been dead in their hand to several turns? Setting cards rarely, is just asking for them to get Nobled, because you opponent has had so much time to draw it. At least if you set many monsters, you know some of them have to get through.
Besides, this card can be very devastating when used right (or luckly). Sometimes I think it deserves to be limited, mostly when you have two in your hand and your opponent has just one face down monster.
Best for me when playing the hand control, or the field control deck.
