Hey people i've been working on a way to negate the effects of the Silent Swordsman and all that and I came across the trap card Skill Drain, if I was reading the card right, if the owner pays 1000 life point when activated, this trap will negate the effects of all face up monsters on the field, including the Silent Swordsman, would this be correct?

Reading the effects of cards answers most question so yes it would negate silent swordsman's effect.

Of course if the effect of the monster is a graveyard effect then it wont be negated.

my questions about skill drain comes down to

will you get the effect of

manticore of darkness
nimble mamonga

and can you

summon fusilier from your hand without tribute and still keep its 2800 attack?

They activate in the graveyard, so yes, you will get the effect.

And yes, Fusilier will keep his attack of 2800.
