My style has always been more controll. Usually U/W controll or U/B controll. As our games get more casual, I've been trying to make more aggresive decks.
With this deck, I try to be as aggressive as possible.. Against a faster, harder hitting deck, I try to hold my own till I can start getting the unblockable slivers through (while gaining me life)
The above isn't my actual sliver deck, but more what I'm thinking of turning it into. The one I have now has some more creature pump in it.
This definatly isn't a controll deck. The mana Leaks are there to protect me against things that I know will kill me or to give me an early edge against super fast decks.
Our enviroment is important to understanding how I play tho. There are only 3 people in our groups and we often play multiplayer... with some of the funkiest, fun, casual decks, so I always try to keep down my competitive deck building.
I've just gotten back into Magic and I picked up the Sliver Shivers deck and I love it. If I can get the combination of Shifting Sliver, Essence Sliver, Tribal Unity, and a couple other slivers, it's almost unstoppable. Although, of the 7 or 8 times I've played it, I've only won once :-(
Yeah, I like the mana leak in this deck since it only requires one blue to cast it. Counterspell is stronger, but mana leak is easier to cast. The 3 mana will be difficult for my opponent(s) to pull off in the early game, and if it's late in the game, im already in trouble.
I wouldnt play the Shiftin Slivs...four mana is too much.Id rather just shell out .50 and buy some more Winged. Also Mneumonic(?) Sliver may be of some use. I also suggest adding 3-4 Fact or Fiction. They might be expensive to but if you don't have them but worth it. I know I just said four mana is too much but if you dont kill your opponent by then a Fact will refill your hand.
ya shifting should come out prolly. eitehr than or the flying one. its like giving ur guys double unblockability. if u have living wish that would help because then u would be able to create ur sideboard into a sliver nest :)
