To put it short, IT SUCKED.

Only me and 4 others showed up. I made it to 3rd place, but only the first place winner got a prize.

What was the prize you ask? Originally it was only 2 packs of DM. Then at the end the person who won told me that they needed the 2 packs to sell and that they gave him 5.00 store credit. There pack prices are 3.49 or something like that, and they do charge tax.

I guess since this is a free tourny, its not that bad. But geez, only "5" people total at the tourny.

Hopefully more will show up for next Tuesdays tourny. Time will be at 4:00, the 6:00 time it shows on the website is wrong. If you need the address, just pm me for it(store address).

Wow... that's realtively surprising coming from Neutral. I don't think you'll see huge quality tourney's until DCI starts sanctioning events. The Indy tourneys are a great idea... but are hardly as well supported as the official ones.

Well, give the game time. It was only released last friday, and most people don't even have decks yet (I don't). Once the game kicks off, I'm sure there will be more people. Be thankful there's anyone there to play. :D

The game should pick up in popularity after this saturday, when the tv show starts.

Like I was saying, the game is popular. They sold cards and decks like hotcakes. I think its because its a tuesday that was the problem. I barely even saw MtG players show up for their tourny.

where can i sign up of this tourny?

You sign up at Neutral Grounds. You sign up when the tourny starts, not before then. So getting there early doesnt let you sign up early.

Yeah, well i remember Magic: The Gathering going through a similar process of starting slow, and then exploding all of a sudden three weeks after Release. Its thursday right now, and we're only a week into it. We'll slowly convert people from the 'dark side' of yu-gi-oh and move them into the real kind of game, not that kiddie stuff.

It's not that the game is starting slow (the store was all but sold out) it's that the events are being held on tuesday which is the bastard day of the week when no one is there anyway, the only reason me and my buddy were there (We played in the tournament) was because it happened to be a friends birthday and was close by.

If NG wants a bigger turnout it should be moved to wednesdays, there are alot more people there on wednesdays.

And yes the problem was a tuesday, even magic barely had anybody. But the other kid who won said they only had 2 boosters left. Unless the store lied. :/

I talked to Tony, the store owner, and were going to try to get the events changed to wednesdays. This tuesday thing jsut wont fly at all, and the tourneys are going to get puched back till 6 probably, cause thats when the bulk of the players show.

And for what its worth most of the NG employees are playing DM, so thats a very good sign.

:sigh:, I watch that new Steven King show and it starts 10, between the train and tourny, I'd proberly miss it. >_> Why not a friday?

Yeha im sure the popualarity will go insane wich is why im trying to scoop up as many good cards before it does, and prices go up.
