I just jumped into this game head first. Quit Yu-Gi-Oh (its dying!) and now I am wondering some of the general rules since i just spent like 50 dollars on boosters and starter deck.

Well, you can have as much as you want, but the minimum is 40 cards.

Also.. when it says "This creature can't attack players." That means I can't attack at all right...?

you can attack creature with those, else steel smasher would be the worst card ever printed would it :>

you dont ahve to block, its your choice to do so

What that means is that it cannot break shields or deliver the final blow to players, BUT it can attack tapped creatures.
"This creature can't attack" is the one that can't attack at all.

You can choose not to if you want.

Oh... thanks. Just read it, so I dont have to attack creatures that are just tapped. My friends and I were playing it the wrong way -sigh- making me attack all his tapped stupid creatures.

So blockers can only block then. And I can choose to attack creatures but do not have to. Right?

Blockers can attack untapped creatures if they are allowed to do so.
And yes, you can choose to attack creatures, you don't have to.
