See sig. I left before the final match. The two decks that were left were R/U/G/B control and a U/B/R with Fire being Bolmeteus, Pyrofighter, Bazazageal, and Searing Wave. I played U/B/R without Dragons. 4th place had a weird hybrid thingy. All I can remember is when I dueled him he kept using Mana Nexus to put Burst Shot and Holy Awes into his shields. His brother made it to the finals (R/U/G/B). His brother beat him in the finals. There was a turnout of about 20 people. R/U/G/B peson was the only person to go undefeated in Swiss. He beat the guy he played in the finals 2-0. I think he won.
Congrats on your 3rd place victory. I cant beleive only 20 people showed at such a large convention. That really sux. i hope more peeps show at the Invitation Circuits.
Thanx. I expected more people to show, to. I probably won't get to Origins, but I should be able to get to like all of the small ones on the east coast. Maybe I'll see you there.
Where are the promos!? I still have not seen a scan of Aqua Hulcus or Terror Pit. Did they have the same art just foil-ized or was it new art? And did you manage to rack up several Pits or were people not budging tradwise?
Congratulations on the third place finish though. I am interested by the U/B/R deck because it sounds similar to what I am currently using. Any way you could type up a rough decklist for me? Thanks a lot Elephant Smash. You seem to be the only person from the Philly event who is active on the Realms...
That'll be so funny if the 4 civ deck won. That will give incentive for folks to drift away from thinking that playing more than 3 civs effectively is impossible. My comp @ my local store learned the hard way not to underestimate the gals who play 4 civ decks, lol. Anways, took me a bit to get back to more than just Blue-Green splash, so I understand it when folks are reluctant to try new things or to try to see their merits to a point.
Ah, gotta make a F/D/W cookie deck, then spice it up with some sugar-sweet frosting, and then tweak my 4 civ. Yum, yum. Origins, baby!
actually, the 4 civ deck was a close copy to mine, the brothers both go to my store, 1 wanted my deck list and never showe'd for it, he was the 1 who came in first and did not run the 4cc. The other had a deck similar to mine, didn't see what he took out but i did see that he added holy awe. The brother running the 4cc lost to the other brother on purpose(from what i hear) cause he lost to the deck that he would have faced in the finals earlier in the tourny. The brother that won beat the dragon deck=1 brother came in 3rd, other came in first, guy in third used a deck similar to mine.
Still, it's nice to know that a 4cc deck did well.
I don't find it surprising that someone from your store would have a deck similar to yours or anyone else seeing as how an old version was on the net. Hum, I still don't know what you run exactly (won't ask b/c I like surprises and respect players keeping their builds to themselves), but I like Doboulgyser and I respect ya for having used it.
On another note, I'm glad that someone was using Burst Shot and did well. I love that card (it works in my meta), but I run both it and Wave because I kinda love being redundant when it comes to kill.
"sergio played a melfolk type of deck more less with red and at the last minute he took out nthe yellow that i had in my deck i had addd yellow blockers and such but he said he prefers the blue blockers..."
manny pm'd me on here a few times so i still have it...i'm assuming from this that he either ran a 4cc aswell, or a rub. It seems that the dragon deck was also sum1 from dz:D , "the guy that i played, with the dragon of hell man he was pretty good he said he plays you online at #############". now i'm just curious who it was...
:p
