Light.......More playable because of Craze Valkyrie?
I know that there was a thread before explaining that light was hardly used but after seeing how light appeared in the top deck at some invites I became curious. Many people are now choosing to run magris, sarius and "Crazy Val", the nickname that Cecilbill gave Craze Valkyrie. I personally love this sudden "reincarnation" of the light. What do you think, has light become more playable and tournament worthy?
I must admit that Craze Valkryie as spurred a lot of Light mania in my decks even more than it did before. All the tournaments I've won since playing Duel Masters has featured Light in them which Im proud of, but with the inclusion of Craze Valkryie now available in decks, it mights Light at least useable now!
I used him in my most recent tournament deck "Craze Valkryie Tap/Destruction deck (See decks) and used my Light/Darkness CV deck at the last two tournaments I've featured in and I won both tournaments without hardly losing a duel and CV helped an awful lot as its effect for me was able to wipe out fields easily!
To be honest, CV could see a reappearance of Light in more competitive decks!
Yay! I'm currently running a Y/B/G deck with magris, sarius and craze it it dominated the past tournament. Craze Valkyrie is becoming a force to be reckoned with.
I think light might die out with the new set, idk how much support light is getting. I haven't seen anything with yellow in the top 4 in awhile. Everything that made top 4 in rieither had black or blue..
Well of course Valkyrie makes light more playable. He's perfect in my "Drastic Measures" deck. Tap/Kill is in. Mariomancer for draw power, it can be quite effective :)
Set Seven as a whole is an underwhelming set, the good cards in it are Hell Vice, Chain Slash, Curse Totem, Flying Man, Mobius Charger. About 5-7 more interesting cards but not anything hugely playable in my opinion. At least Hell Vice should change some decks, using Mobius to accelerate to Vice should be good.
Even with this light is still a good. Mariomancer-Light is effective for me anyways. Mario+Rias+Valkyrie.
Lol, I haven't put it up, normally I don't put stuff on this site because I'm not looking for feedback on them. But if you are so interested the latest version of Drastic Measures (still needs a bit more playtesting):
4x Mist Rias
3x Holy Awe
3x Sarius
3x Craze Valkyrie
3x Lost Soul
3x Locomotivator
4x Marinomancer
4x Energy Stream
3x Miele
3x Magris
3x Ooze
4x Terror Pit
Still needs a mid-level light powerhouse I think. The more powerful darkness inclusive version uses Daidalos/Vile Mulder to escape the Waves, but as it is, this isn't resistant enough, and adding Kanesil alone won't cut it. But sides that it works ok.
Craze Valkyrie is one of the best things going for Light, and should be for many sets to come. To boot it has Light's best non-evo creature--Magris--as its base. I favor Light in a Darkness/Water/Light deck whether it is Valkyrie or Hydro action. I prefer straight kill to tapping, but I have been successful with Light/Water/Darkness tap decks for a while now. I think a Crazy Val deck did well at Origins. I'll have to check out some decklist reports to confirm that tho.
Ryoma, I like Mobius but I wonder if it will be an integral part of decks in the US. I know why Mobius was killer in the JP meta--gave players a way to make 8 mana by turn 4 with Life, Astral, Flower, and Mobius--but I wonder if it will be given same reception as Pangaea's Song from Base Set here in US. US players tend not to favor jilting themselves on battle zone presence. I plan to test it out as way to get Hell Vice on board sooner in a deck that is decidely Aggro-Control. Kinda makes you wish the broken Astral was around--just kidding. But, I feel for some Control decks it will be a race to get off Vice/Wave/Soul first, lol.
Ok so everyone has pretty much agreed that "Carzy Val" has made light more playable so let me move on to the next question. Which color (or colors) do you think best compliment a tap/kill deck. I have splashed in blade of all and snares because i was running guardians and initiates. Or would yellow /blue HH be better with marinomancer for draw be better.Let me know.
