Wells, if you've read any other posts about Crazy Val decks here you'll see that I've given you mad props on your victory with a creature that all but a few players ever saw as having potential. I know that you've been successful with Light based strategies for a while now, but your great showing with Val just confirms that the few players who defended Light and D/W/L in that Light sux thread weren't loony tunes, and that in the hands of the right player even the 'underdog' decktypes can be winners. Niceness. You're prolly gonna spawn a revial of D/W/L. Yippie! Can't wait to see if you take Light to the Championship, hehe. That would be something, too.
Dude, no frowns about second place tho--you did it with Light! Smiles.
Hum, only have one question, really, b/c I don't max out a lot of cards in my own decks and you run nearly everything I do in D/W/L Crazy Val (I have in Loco over Touch tho, Folk isn't maxed, and no Water blockers), but what up with that lone Phantom? :D
I'll put this on the front page. Expect an PM sometime this week from me about an interview. Ah, a Poj0 writer interviewing another Poj0 writer. ;)
I couldn't lose Fish from my deck totally, but I couldn't go much higher, or my draws would be worse than they were. They are to deal with Pyrofighter and other obnoxious 3000 guys.
Because R/U/B is too easy. Basically, if you drop a Bolmeteus and they don't do something about it before you attack, its game. Or close too it. Losing two shields is so hindering. I don't like easy easy wins. Just easy ones ^_^.
Funny how this was mentioned. Everyone of my winning decks in tournaments have featured Light in them and the best deck with Light was the one I played Craze Valkryie in recently in a Light/Darkness Tap/Destruction/Hand Manipulation deck!
Light will see a resurgence Cecilbill, just you wait!!
My decks were....
Light/Nature Beastfolk/Blocker
Light/Water/Darkness Merfolk/Tap Control
Light/Darkness Craze Valkryie Control deck
The fact is, I love the Light civilisation but I also realise that it has a number of weaknesses compared to other civs but at the same time, it has a number of strengths which I use in my decks. With the release of Craze Valkryie in Stompatrons, it has only increased my use of Light and it will continue to stay that way!
So newfoundglory congrats m8 from a fellow Light user and as Cecilbill said already, I hope you take Light to the championships!
LIGHT SUX. DON'T PLAY IT!... Is What I would say if I were a complete n00b:) I am glad to see light place so high in a big tournament. Currently I am working on a B/U/Y deck but I don't think I will take it to the invitationals. 2nd Place is really good no matter what your playing.
I just hope light doesn't get hosed off with Thundercharge.
Thundercharge puts a dent in a lot of the multiciv Control decks. Little guys like Propeller Mutant are annoying. But, I think decks like W/D/L will still be around b/c some of the new tools that hurt Control can benefit it too. We may see a rise in cheap bounce like Spiral Gate, which could work its way back into W/D/L. Yeah, but like NFG I've pretty much only think Light is good in D/W/L post-Shadowclash, tho in the future I plan to run Light in a 4 civ Removal deck. Also, I have been using Light in a 5 color deck out that's won some tournies at my local store and has tested okay versus some of the other good players there. Still, that 5-civ deck out deck is too much of a risk to run at big events, and it can be beaten so badly that it isn't even funny.
