Hi everyone. I have just completed trades and purchases that will put two of every Monarch at my disposal. I plan to build a tournament-worthy Monarch Deck. My first question is this - how many Monarchs can one deck support? Second - knowing you have two of each available, what would your Monarch lineup look like?

I'm thinking either 6 or 7 with the following lineup:

2 Zaborg the Thunder Monarch
2 Raiza the Storm Monarch
1 or 2 Mobius the Frost Monarch
1 Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch

I would greatly appreciate your thoughts and idea.

id go for 3 thestalos, 2 raiza 2 zaborg and maybe 1 mobius ,

depends on ure deck and how u build it buddy.brain control x2, soul exchange, spies, treeborn , u have many options . what the general build u like?

Yeah, I'm currently running the usuals in support - 2 Brain, 2 Soul Exchange, 3 Cyber Dragons, 2 GK Spy, Froggy, Spell Striker, Lily, Sangan, Reaper, THB and 2 Dekoichi. I also put in a Grand Mole and Don Zaloog. My current deck has 1 Zaborg, 1 Raiza, 2 Mobius and 2 Thestalos. I am awaiting a second Raiza and Zaborg, which will be added as soon as they arrive. I'm just not sure if running as many as 8 Monarchs is such a good idea.

8 maybe too much , so far i see this in the usual decks

and no mobius , it all depends on ure taste. ill post more later on as im about to leave . plus i run a monarcg deck but with d draw and stuff.

Eight can be done, but it needs to be especially dedicated.

Let me make a few corrections to that list:

-Spell Striker
-Lily
-Gran Mole
-Don

Unfortunately, 2 copies of each of those is all I own, so that is what I must go with. I think, however, since I'm not running any Shrink that Don Z would be a waste. he will probably go.

i'd run 2 of each if you have the normal support, it shouldn't be a problem running 8 tribute monster. if you want to drop one or two, drop a zaborg and a mobius and run 2 thestalos (i prefer in 3's, but you only have 2) and 2 raiza (more versatile than mobius and zaborg)

Actually, I have 3 Thestalos (2 Commons and a Super) that I could run. Granmarg is the only one I just have one of. I'm going to play around with 8 and see what happens, making minor adjustments to the support structure. I've noticed a decline in the use of Shrink over the last couple of SJC's. Has it seen its peak?

Raiza is considerably the most dangerous Monarch next to Mobius...

The spin effect Raiza boast is deadly!

Very soon I think everyone will be seeing alot less of Zaborg since Raiza essentially does its Job better.

Raiza and Thestalos working together can be deadly combination for your opponent.

Concensus appears to be leaning toward Thestalos over Zaborg. I will definitely need to do some testing with this. It sounds as though I should start out with this lineup:

2 Raiza
3 Thestalos
1 Zaborg
1 Mobius
