Ok, i have several questions regarding the Grandmaster and Great Shogun Shien.
I'll explain the questions in the following scenarios.

1. I have a six samurai zanji on the field along with the grandmaster. My opponent plays the magic card Smashing Ground. If i decide to destroy my Grandmaster in place of zanji, will i still get his second effect which states, "When this card is destroyed by your opponent's card effect, add 1 "Six Samurai" monster from your Graveyard to your hand."

2. Is Shien considered a six samurai? let me explain in this situation. I have the six samurai zanji on the field along with Great Shogun Shien. My opponent activates tribute to the doomed and wants to kill my Zanji. Can i protect Zanji by destroying shogun shien instead?

1.) No ebause it wasn't your opponent's card effect that destroyed Grandmaster, it was the effect of your Six Samurai.

2.) No, because Shien doesn't have the words "Six Samurai" in his card name.
