I know...most of you will overlook this, but in play test have been a wonderfull abusable strategy now that there are plenty of torrential, BTH, Sakuretsus, even Hatefull Smashing grounds....
Would you rather loose field control or gain LP?
Though question.
Launch your Majestic Mech Goryzon against a Sakuretsu, or your GOLDD against a BTH, or better yet, your JINZO into a SHRINK....
loose control from brain control from your opponent´s over your Nephyst Phoenix, Snatch and stole your Pharshat, Smashing to your tomato or Donny Z......
Premature burial a 1500atk + monster and it´s BTH food....Bring out a Chimeratech with 6800 or 8800 Atk, and recieve damage half it´s ATK....
All this situations have something in common....
you pay LP cost or you recieve Damage .... and at the end there is only one thing that makes it fare enough:
USE MYSTIC WOK.....
it´s unbelievable!! use it on test play JUST 1...will do fine and watch your opponent´s face go: WHAT THA HELL? yes, if they plan to take adavnatage of your powerfull monster and steal it from you...eat it...
if you run into a sakuretsu and (you will doubtlestly loose a monster) EAT IT!
if you fall into a BTH after you´ve special summoned your GIGANTES or anything else (eat it) ....
EAT cydras on mirror forces, eat tomatos...man! they are also good for your health :D
Thoughts and test plays are warmly welcomed!!! :squareeye
I dont think you activate "Mystic Wok" in chain to Shrink unless it is outside of damage step.

Besides, if I take control of a monster and ram it into their monster and end up getting Sakuretsu, Mirror'd, Widespread...its already a +2. LP matters only when you lose because it determines how bad you got sacked or how bad you are.
Life points do matter some but when you get good you tend not to worry about them till you reach a certain level. For me it is 2500. I am not saying i am good. I am saying don't worry about them and see how you do. Try it out.
Mystik Wok was a fun card when it came out..couple of years ago. But like D said, you get to a point where LP isn't too much of a concern, unless your running some sort of Rouge LP gaining deck, or if your running Archfiends.

D.D.
I understand exactly what you mean....At the start of the duel you have 8000lp...thats alot. although some peple wouldnt think so...and life points serves only one purpose...which is to keep you in the game. Jae Kim wrote a good article opn TCG player talking about this....the only time you should start to even care about LP is when its the 1500 and below range...so cards that manipulate them arent too useful unless you plan to stall. At any rate I like Mystic Wok alot....but this not a format where it will shine.
Well, there are better ways to make your opponent face go whadda' hell.
Also, for me that is around 4000.....at that time, Cyber+another big monster can finish you off.
Surely, you can use Mystic Wok,but I'd even prefer something like healing verison of ceasefire(keep forgetting it's name) or Draining Shield, which do something in addition to healage. And you don't need a monster for them.
I really wouldn't advise the card. Although, Ring of Destruction has made lifepoints more important than they were in the past, most people probably find defending their lps more important than gaining some.
Although, my friend used it in a dragon deck. He used Dragon's Mirror to bring out FHD and used Mystic Wok on it to gain 5000 lps. He was also playing Dimension Fusion among other things.
I think LP gain only gives you advantage if you can keep doing it every turn. When your constantly gaining LP from something like Solemn Wishes or Snatch Steal, then your opponents in trouble. They have to keep pushing damage on you or else they may never get another chance to kill you once you take control again, and when you keep healing the damage you take that chance usually comes.
