Okay, I was looking through some of my cards yesterday, and stumbled across Allure queen. And I said to myself, what possible use could there be for this thing? It can only suck up level 3 monsters, and I can't just summon level 5 and start taking those, because I have to go through the effect.
Then it hit me. Why not use a legendary ocean engine comboed with DNA transplant to force all monsters into becoming lvl 3? The only lvl 5 monster that sees a lot of play is cyber dragon, and one turn of stalling would easily overcome it, as lvl 5 would just come out the next turn.
So, with this combo set up, I looked to support. You can't take a face-down monster obviously, so there are a few options. Light of Intervention prevents face-downs from being played, so it opens up any commonly set monster like morphing jar or dekoichi from getting its effect AND opens it up to be taken by allure queen. I'm using 2, and a ceasefire for the flip-and-burn.
So how to stay alive while the combo is being set up? Well, 3 threatening roars and 3 wabokus will work just fine. Warrior of atlantis can search legendary ocean as well as becoming a beatstick while its out. You can use your choice of flip-drawers, I'm personally using dark mimic because I don't have any dekoichis to spare. Morphing jar may also help. Also, 2 copies of the A forces won't hurt, since your primary offensive forces are spellcasters and warriors.
I'm using 3 copies of queen's bodyguard as a solid beatstick as well as protection for the queens. I plan to run 3 lvl 3s, 3 lvl 5, and 2 lvl 7. Once lvl 7 is out, there is no monster that you can't take, and as long as you're stopping damage through waboku, threatening roar, and possibly tornado wall, you will be untouchable as you slurp in opponent's monsters. With 3 jars of greed, And usage of cards like magic drain/jammer and seven tools of the bandit, (or solemn judgement with tornado wall out) You will quickly exhaust your opponent's resources.
So, that's the basic framework, what do you all think?
The only real problem with this kind of decktype is that whatever Allure Queen can do for your deck, Relinquished can do better and faster. You're much better off using a Relinquished build, because he doesn't have any restrictions, he can even take face-downs if you want him to. And with Advanced Ritual Art, summoning him has never been easier.
Don't get me wrong, this is rather inventive of you, but the effort that your deck has to put into something like this isn't worth the potential return, and your strategy is fluffed if your opponent draws Heavy Storm, which everyone uses. Treeborn Frog into Zaborg takes out your Queen no matter what Trap cards you use to defend her, which is another problem, and that trick is all over the place nowadays.
that's what magic jammer and pulling the rug are for. I did consider relinquished, but I don't like the idea of using 2 cards to bring a third out that can easily be destroyed. I forgot to mention that I'm running 2 masks of restrict in this deck in addition to 2 magic jammers and a magic drain, plus plenty of removal. Basically, the deck is 25 spells and traps designed negate, destroy, and support the allure queens. Also, like relinquished, allure queen is saved by destroying her equip card, so she's not entirely screwed by zaborg.
Yes she is entirely screwed by Zaborg, because the equip can only save her from destruction through battle. Still, with 3 Pulling the Rugs and a couple My Body as a Shield you should be able to keep her somewhat safe from destruction.
Instead of the whole Legendary Ocean/DNA Transplant combo I'd just use the following equip spell:
Demotion
Downgrade the monster equipped with this card by 2 Levels.
It's not as vulnerable as a 2 card combo, and it lowers the level by 2 not 1. Now even the Lv3 Queen can absorb Cyber Dragons and Zaborgs, and Lv5 can absorb pretty much anything commonly played.
If you did take this route, then toss in Possessed Dark Soul as well. Then you get the full run of monsters to control. I tried this tactic in a deck a while ago with limited success, but it needed more refinement.
