after seeing every national so far i have come to the conclusion that horus can do very well in this meta. but i see just one problem with it. ITS TO SLOW. so i was wondering if any of u guys can help me make this deck faster yet able to work well in a match up with t-hero or pc. so far one of the fastest ways to bring horus was to use 3 of each level with three lv up. but it was to fast that i always drew lv up after horus lv 8 came out. i would like for everone to help me break this monster before july 15 so any help will be appreciated.
I found that when my opponent got out his Horus, it was nearly unstoppable, partially because he also played Royal Decrees. But he does great in this meta (both lv6 and 8).
But the real trick is to get him out. Just run three lv6 and two lv8 (maybe three lv8). And run three brain controls to take monster for tribute fodder.

It worked for me back when it came out.
He doesn't do THAT great...sac Frog for Zabby/Raiza, bye horus? Though, I know what you mean. I remember my Horus lock with Lord of D. It was awesome.
Horus LV8 + Lord of D. + Heart of Clear Water on Lord of D. Ubah cool. Flip Decree for extra ownage.

Nothing some divine wraths can't solve. Take out frog permanently when he tries to come back. Or the monarch in question if he tribs something else. Besides, much harder to get a monarch out when they can't use their soul exchange or Brain control.
But yeah, Lord of D was pretty hefty. And when they killed Lord of D, dragon's mirror for king dragun and its back to square one.
so horus with lord of d with divine dragon R. seems to be everyones fav. okay i'l try the thing out. Last thing can u use dragons mirror and future fusion with light hex or dark hex?

Yes on Mirror, no on Future fusion. You'd want dark hex by the way, since you can use the hex effect on King dragun. Whether its everyone's favourite I don't know, but Xav's Lord of D deck is what inspired me to make my own Horus - dragon build.
Worthy point of note is that I generally don't include LV4 in my Horus builds, but given the spreading of Brain Controls like pestulence in rat-infested area's, one or two aren't the worst choices in the world.
Horus, I feel, should be made into an aggressive control deck.
The control aspect is fairly obvious, but nobody wants to use it aggressively because they all want the "lock" (decree + LV8). Personally, I'd try to use Shrinks, Controllers, a B. Control or two, and a counter trap line up (Rugs and Solemns maybe?) If you do use Decree then you had better be prepared to have Raiza bounce your stuff or have some way to stop tributing from happening.

I think the monarch player would shake your hand once you played Divine Wrath on their Treeborn Frog. I mean, you -2 yourself. Who needs Monarchs when the opponent does that to themselves? Afterall, once you negate frog, it will pop right back.
If the effect of "Treeborn Frog" is negated, you can activate its effect again during the same Standby Phase and Special Summon it.
As for Magus, I think defensive Horus is better. Makes Horus last longer because it won't fall for Sakuretsu Armor, Mirror Force , Shrink, Rush (assuming you stall well), etc. And, it allows you for more protective cards like Gravity Bind, Level Limit Area - B, and even a Counter Trap line up.
The Lord of D. deck was an approach at the aggro horus lock. The deck was pretty cool with Dragon's Mirror either bring King Dragun, or a F.H.D for so massive ownage.
Xav: That's not all the way true, If Ha Des negates treeborn, he will never come back. I am not sure if it goes for Divine Wrath or not, but Ha Des will make treeborn useless once he kills it.

That ruling is regarding Divine Wrath specifically.

The word "same" means you are doing it during his standby phase and right now, all I can think that can do that is Divine Wrath.
And yes, Ha Des, Balter, etc, can "uber-negate" treeborn because it's effect won't activate again.
magus yes raiza is a problem but with king dragun he's a joke. sure he will bounce my royal decree but my dragons are untouched because of dragun, also special summoning a dragon from my hand is a great effect. now that i think of it king dragun makes almost everyway to kill horus dead. no saku no brain(not that it would matter) and best of all NO Raiza abuse. Looks like i got a deck idea. But i got one problem.
1. which is better divine dragon or dark hex. divine dragon is crap but i can use future fusion to dump him and later dragons mirror him and lord of d.
2. if i use dark hex i have to use tomatoes which hinders the deck from summoning F.G.D. since i can't use mask dragons.
what do u guys think is better dark hex or divine dragon?
I'd definetly go with Hex, Tomato can do a lot of good for Horus, especially since it can fetch Lord of D.
Personally I think D-Heroes would be a good build for Horus. Malicious fodder and Dashers ability both help Horus 6 hit the field easier, and D. Draw provides extra speed. It could be worth a shot.
I have always loved horus but the release of raiza is just too much.
Zaborg was bad but you could deal with it. Raiza is gamebreaking, as drawing horus lv 8 while staring down a 2400 monster =gg
The only plausible thing is, as people have said, king dragun, but that is very very combo heavy. If you get it to work, you get a cookie, but getting it off consistently is just a very difficult thing to accomplish.
