They all look like draw effects to me.

If the text is taken as is....then hand size can only be changed by the playing of cards and the draw phase itself.

You cannot draw a card when card trooper or phoenix goes bye bye and not when you flip dekoichi or M jar. Essentially while its face up cards can only be drawn during the draw phase at the start of your turn.

While this card is face-up on your side of the field, cards can only be added to the hand by drawing them from the Deck. Also, you can send this face-up card from your side of the field to the Graveyard to negate the Special Summon of 1 of your opponent's monsters and destroy it.

That is the card text. I don't see why Cyber Phoenix or Trooper's effect won't trigger. It's drawing. Now, unless your source has adifferent text. My source right now isn't very reliable(Wikipedia), but I trust it.

Apparently its not obvious that the card should read "except during the draw phase" or something along those lines. Clearly the exact wording of the card wont be known until way later..but for now we can infer. Furthermore how can anyone agree that its text is correct when the card hasnt even been released overseas yet? I don't think anyone can really say what the EXACT text will read. The text could be slighty changed and it probably WILL...or perhaps it may stay exactly the same.

It's not obvious because that's now how it works. So far, 2 sources (One which is very trustable) say you are wrong, regarding text.

Honestly, I think it's just meant to stop Reinforcement of the Army, Stratos, Sangan, and things like that. Afterall, We already have Protector of the Sanctuary.

Anyhow, as it seems right now, your interpretation of the text is off...though it could just be me.

I think xav has it right. The wording doesn't seem to imply it needs any more clarification. You can only add cards to your hand by drawing. That means nothing that searches the deck and adds the cards to your hand, but you can still draw, whenever.

I don't think either source is trustworthy, those sites often issue errata. But I think its pretty much like xav says it. Otherwise it would just be protector of the sanctuary, and what would be the point of that ?

That's the text DMComet shows. All three sources show NOTHING that specifies that draw has to be by a Game Mechanic and not an effect.

The card hasnt even been released OVERSEAS yet for goodness sake....in other words not even duelist in japan know exactly what it will say. The sites that people use to get their info use errata ALOT. As I already said the text of the card just MAY stay the same...or it may not. Im not quarelling with the effect...it is what it is. Im simply saying that NOTHING can be confirmed as either source isint REALLY trustworthy AND since the card hasnt been released overseas yet.

My interpretation of the text is not "off" because the text hasnt even been confirmed to even be properly interpreted in the first place. However, one can infer that the overall ability of the card will remain the same even after it is released and translated....which is the reason why I made the thread in the first place. I acknowledge that the text may be incorrect when I said "Thats a mistake on my part..." I should have been more specific. I understand perfectly what the text says but I choose to spoke about what it may do....perhaps next time I wont.

I think if it negates cards like Sangan and such, then I'm fine with that. It'll work nicely into my light deck. ^_^

Negating a special summon isn't bad at all either.

Then use your standard Dark Ruler Ha Des to knock off the Sangan/Tomatoes/etc. and you're good to go.
