Technically we're in a new season now (with WC '07) just now behind us, but I guess I could label the top 5 deck types (not necessarily by popularity) of the meta...
1. Monarchs - Still. Having Card Trooper in the mix brought up other variants to support this.
2. Demise OTK - It's taken a drop in popularity, but it is still one nasty OTK engine that is pretty stable. The main variants you see are Dozer Demise (Insect) and Fiend Demise (Necrofear). Most people are betting Demise will get limited or restricted the next go around.
3. Gadgets - There was HUGE hype when these were finally released, but oddly enough it has taken a while to master the gadget decks and so they remain sparsed out.
4. Samurai - A pretty robust sub-type, especially if you get the Grandmaster. I've seen a few of these decks pop up and most people want to see them work.
5. Skill Drain - A few remnants of Skill Drain Aggro/Control are out there too thanks to the "anti-Monarch" approach they have.
Okay thanks to all you but I do have some questions like what is up with the talk about Cyber Dark and can someone give me an idea of what perfect circle is.
Perfect Circle is from what I've seen basically a mix of Monarchs and D-Heroes. The whole idea is to get Disk Commander in the graveyard as soon as possible, then keep reviving him and tributing off for a Monarch, gaining 2 extra cards every time to keep the hand size at max.
Circle existed before we even got disk commander. He just added to the mix. It's about using the D-hero Draw and free trib fodder engine (using dasher, fear monger and Malicious to provide same turn trib fodder, and Destiny draw to speed through cards) to fuel heavy monarch plays.
