Considering you get 5 packs, we are looking at a pool of 40 commons, 4-5 rares and maybe a super or ultra. I just looked over the set, and to be honest, I don't even see how I can build a 20-card deck out of that. Anybody have any ideas what the top commons should be in the sealed pack ?

Just run beatdown. Strongest monsters usually win the duels when there's no monster destruction.

Theres a normal alien 4 star with 1900 ATK, a new normal dark world 4 star with 2100 DEF

get 3 of each and that should hold down most of the duel


or you can use 3 of the 1900 ATK alien with some venom cards that have reptile support

My strategy is to use the Venom Cards. Venomous Swamp combined with that Venom Cobra, with 2000 DEF, should put a stop to anything that the other players have going. I'll be running defensive Deckout, with 25 cards in my deck, most other people put the exact 20 in theirs, so it often ends in deckout.
